Morrowind Better Experience

I've played Skyrim for a long time, for several times, and all of them, modded. Some mods fix bugs, some enhance the gameplay but, in general, what I want from them is graphical improvement.

 

So I decided to finally buy Morrowind and Oblivion. I delayed this so much because, you might laugh, I'm kind of "allergic" to games with bad or old graphics. But I have no idea about the right or the best mods for them. It took me a looooong time to figure out what could work well for Skyrim and this time I would like something quicker.

 

That said... Wit the current list of Skyrim mods I have installed today, would it be possible to suggest me the best Morrowind counterparts?

Of course, you can ignore clothes/armors and quest mods.

 

Also, the most important, is what is the best mod manager. I did some research and it seems that there is no Mod Organizer for Morrowind and I rather not use NMM for Morrowind if it works the same messy way it does for Skyrim.

around Morrowind in Skyrim quality to play there is only a possibility, you have to install Skywind. 

Morrowind was the best Elders Scroll game at all, Oblivion and Skyrim can not keep up with this game. unfortunately was "back then" of the stood of the development not yet far as.

it is also impossible to use only one of these Skyrim mods and there are no mods in this quality.

Skywind is just a dream for mortals yet. There is no need to match Skyrim in graphics quality, just an improvement to not look like too much a 13 years old game.

There are many good mods for Morrowind, but unfortunately not with NMM. you have to install everything manually, it is a time-consuming work.

To manage mods (well, esp's...) you definitely want to use Wrye Mash. I remember also using tools like FPS optimizer or MGE (morrowind graphics extender) but it was years ago, maybe all of this is deprecated now...

Best place to find tutorials for Morrowind is Tamriel Rebuilt (they changed their site though, so you'll have to look for it. Unless they removed all the tutorials).

 

Edit: Here's a list of tutorials, but it lists back to Tamriel Rebuilt, so no ideas what they did with the tutorials.

No no, it's just to manage esp (load order, leveled lists and so on), AFAIK there's no real mod manager for Morro, you're just with your dick and knife to manage everything, old school style.

in Morrowind you are the Nerevarine, you are the hero slays a God, this god is "Dagoth Ur".

in Oblivion you must the "Daedric Prince Molag Bal 'to stop, it opens in Tamriel, the so called Oblivion gates.

Here you are also working for the first time with the "Klingen" (blades)  together. in skyrim it's Astrid.

Yeah, you're supposed to fight Dagoth Ur,

the devil incarnate, who lives in a volcano and sends out blight storms that turn people into plague zombies ... as the townsfolk will tell you, while standing outside in a blight storm. To take him out, you need to hit the heart of a giant golem, also inside the volcano, which is his power source. You'll be needing two artefacts to destroy it, one that inflicts a massive regen debuff and one that does huge damage. Each also inflicts a mortal wound on the user, unless you have a particular gauntlet. To get the gauntlet you have to try to drown yourself in a particular spot in the "puzzle canal" in Vivec city. That'll port you to Vivec himself, and he'll give you the gauntlet ... allegedly. I never did that part. I shoved Dagoth Ur off his platform into the molten lava below, used the weapons on the heart, spammed the **** out of my healing spells, used all my healing potions and made it out of there with about 3 health and 0 mana. Arkay met me at the exit to thank me, which was nice.

Both games have their own heroes-distinct characters.The thing I love in Morroblivion is that you have your personal player character moving between 2 worlds-games, and becoming a double hero...how much better can it get than this? .

Lore-wise Morrowind is superior,but personally I prefer Oblivion game engine/combat mechanics.

Bethesda released Elder Scroll III: Morrowind.

 

I installed it on my decnet PC at the time.

 

Gues what(as so many at the time)Jawdropping, mindgobbling insanely(well that was i experienced at the time)beautiful world to explore the music the voices just go into world exploring find secrest it was just AMAZING as i rememeber back then.

 

I played it for maybe 6 months without mods at the time before i started modding morrowind.

 

Still to date Morrowind my BEST RPG EVER of all time.

 

Thats why im not that interested in new skywind its just not morrowind in many ways.

 

If skywind was only a grafhics update and maybe little better sounds i would be interested but voices and UI and original sounds are to dear to me.

 

Ive still installed Morrowind on my latest highend system and from time to time just login for nostalgia.

 

Skyrim is only fun for me because of mods and enhance grafhics plus making characters. I dont play it anymore fore more then year now.

Absolutely agree about Morrowind.

 

I have played Daggerfall and Oblivion (+modded), but Morrowind remains my favorite among the three.

 

The atmosphere of the in-game world is unique, the lore mind-blowing, just wish it had better gameplay.

I wouldn't say Morrowind had bad gameplay, it many ways it is more complex and fulfilling than either Oblivion of Skyrim, for instance having three classes of armor (light medium and heavy), having a bigger choice of distance weaponry (bows, crossbows and thrown knives), the clothing limitations on Khajits etc, giving a higher depth to gameplay styles. 

Yes it lacks ragdoll physics, it looks dated, and probably can not ever match the eyecandy qualities of Skyrim (or even Oblivion), but to my mind, bad game play is the last thing it has, it's a quality game with it's own distinct personality and style.
