Niggabanana Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I've been experiencing Script Lag as of late. Delayed reactions when pressing Hotkeys, Potions takes 1-4 Before kicking in. You know the basic Script Lag when you have 10 or more Mods that has Scripts to function.  In recent months / almost a year now or so... this old Skyrim.ini to fix Script Lag that i found is now obsolete and causes your Game and or your PC to behave weird in other words it's destroying it slowly...  Here's that Supposedly fix for Script Lag:   [Papyrus]fUpdateBudgetMS=800fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=800fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000iMinMemoryPageSize=256iMaxMemoryPageSize=512iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=2457600    I also dugged up RCRN's 5 tweaks you don't know and found out that you can put Values to your Allocated Memory Bytes according to your RAM which is kinda high if you got 16GB.  Is there Any other way around this problem WITHOUT editing my Allocated Memory Bytes in the Skyrim.ini? I switch weapons using SkyUI's hotkey interface and noticed a 2-7 seconds of Delay with the Frame Stopping for a second and then returns to normal, as with the Script Lag neither my Followers have reactions when i cast Magelight to them which is Odd, Also when loading the Save with the Script Lag Skyrim takes 2-7 seconds to load the remaining things like SkyUI's Buff interface on the upper-left of the Screen (or where it will be on your case), SG Renewal and ECE Configurations takes 2-7 seconds too load together when loading my Save.  But when i'm inside a interior cell like inns' and houses with 50-60 FPS scripts runs fine i guess with only 1-2 seconds delay when i press the hotkeys on changing from Sword to Bow, Bow to sword switches immediately when pressed, Sword to Bow however takes 3-7 seconds.  -The other Save where there's no Script Lag happening yet, FPS outside of Whiterun kicks to stable 38-45, Switching weapons or interacting with Anyone i passed to kicks almost instantly, AI response is fine. Tested it on Silent Moon Hill Camp dungeon and i noticed a lag on one of the cells in there, Near the "Master chest" my FPS dropped from 50-60 to 35-48 and the Lag is noticeable with the Slow frame and when i switched Weapons it's more noticeable.  I fiddled with my AMD Catalyst, Enabling OPENGL and switching my Texture Filtering from Standard to High Quality and still no i guess visible changes in the gameplay with both saves.
Fotogen Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Most of INI settings you find on net are actualy harmful. Â Have you tried SKSE 1.7 memory patch? Â
D_ManXX2 Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 from my experience it is better to leave these out of your ini: Â fUpdateBudgetMS=800fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=800 Â And just set this back to 500 Â fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000 Â Bethesda has warned that changing these from default value will get you adverse effects. That is probably what you are experiencing now.

nidhogga Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Those values are pretty high man ... fUpdateBudgetMS=800 fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=800 in particular, they basically allow MORE cpu time to be spent for every thing rendered, and while this might sound good it can actually clog up your framerate hard. I'd suggest not changing these unless you really know what you are doing. Â Here's my relevant .ini bit: [Papyrus] fUpdateBudgetMS=1.2 fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=1.2 iMinMemoryPageSize=128 iMaxMemoryPageSize=512 iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=76800 fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=1000.0 bEnableLogging=1 bEnableTrace=1 bLoadDebugInformation=1 Try rolling with this. Â Other thing you can and should do is using either this or using skse 1.7 which got it implemented already. If you go for skse route, before editing any skse.ini values go to crowded/high demand area and run this. Check the log how high it goes, and increment accordingly. I will post lenghtier explanation if you need it.
nutluck Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Just curious any reason you don't want to add the memory fix?

Niggabanana Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Just curious any reason you don't want to add the memory fix? I have to work on that, need to install a few programming tool on this New RigÂ
Guest emilio Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 fUpdateBudgetMS=2.4 fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=2.4 fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000 (what's used for the console version)Â the same guide that pointed out those recommended papyrus settings earlier in the thread says that you can tweak these values if you're running a script heavy setup, but the best tweak of all is cutting down on your scripted mods.also, running these tools on your save can help toohttp://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53045/?http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/?Â
Guest Spikes Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 You can try some stuff and see what happens:  Reset your ini to default.  "I also dugged up RCRN's 5 tweaks you don't know and found out that you can put Values to your Allocated Memory Bytes according to your RAM which is kinda high if you got 16GB." It hasn't been proved they work. for all we know,it might have made your lag worse.  Download ewis ini from nexus and try them. If they make things worse(no way), reset to default. open them and read carefully the notes in the inis.  Install memory fix (Mandatory, no reason and no excuse not having it,it fixes what Bethesda should have since day 1)  Your save probably has many scripts running.Maybe you uninstalled something. Do you have  [General] ClearInvalidRegistrations=1   , in your SKSE ini?  If not,add it.  Imaginator,Dance of Death, SOS (in the old days, dunno now), are known to cause script problems->bloating saves. You might be okey, just letting you know.  If nothing works, and you start experience gradually more and more lag, as a last resort only, try a save script cleaner(but research first, most suck). If that dosn't work either, you might have to start a new game.  Â
Uriel Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 What's your savegame size? You shoud use SSME, or SKSE's 1.7 built-in memory patch. This will not help with your problem, but it's a "must have". Â The only savegame cleaner able to help is probably Savegame script scalpel - Disassembler - Diagnostic Tool - Papyrus Data Transfer. Always keep backups of your save and corresponding .skse co-save file before cleaning.

Yeah i just installed Both SSME and i had the Alpha build of SKSE since i re-installed Skyrim and done the Memory Patch but i never heard of Script cleaners  hmmm... i dig very deep now and then, also my Save is 13MB which i guess quite Big in some cases, though i kept reserve saves when i hit the 10MB mark . I will try your Suggestions though.

Done that changes at my saves, hit hotkeys effects and visuals are delayed by a wee bit of 2-7 seconds, NPC responses, dialogs and AI behavior are delayed by that number of seconds.  [General] ClearInvalidRegistrations=1 Have that, still no changes but i will try your suggestions for last resorts.
Bolwig Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Check out this page http://sotrealms.enjin.com/optimization. It helped my playthough a lot, I use the hrk enb and plenty of increased spawn mods and i usually get about 45-50fps on my q9550 stock processor and r9 270 (overclocked) gpu on ultra settings.
Niggabanana Posted June 8, 2014 Author Posted June 8, 2014 After all the methods that're suggested here i'm still having Script Lag so i guess the Last resort is to start a New game though thanks to SSME, Mem Block Log and Skyrim Memory Patch, CTDs are no problem but Stuttering is still an Issue but i'll still try those Script cleaners
Uriel Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 You'll just get it again in a new game. Mods are still the same right? 13mb's is not that bad actually. Â What's in your papyrus logs again?

BlackArk Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I had pretty bad script lag and frostfall would stop working the INI tweaks actually fixed it but I am not so sure about the long term longevity of the save I have been getting CTD occasionally now when I usually wouldn't.

That's because of the Harmful tweaks you've done on your INI Settings, tweaking your AllocatedMemory/Any values that fiddles on how Skyrim handles the System of the game beyond what Bethesda put will cause instability later on this can be seen on other tweaks, the only thing you can tweak there are generally for Graphical enhancement/adjustment. I wished Bethesda fixed that problem months ago though
