Removing armor at the start of sex causes crashing.

Ever since I started using Lovers with PK, I've had males set to remove their clothing. Up until maybe a week or so ago, it's always worked well... and then, all of a sudden, I've had instances where the game would crash when starting sex.

 

I solved this problem with setting clothing to not come off, but today I found that a recent save game I made crashed whenever I took my armor off in my equipment menu, along with trying to remove it during sex.

 

The armor in question is an ebony armor set found on a respawning NPC (female Argonian) in the drug store of the slaver town under Bravil created via Lovers Slave Trade. I assume that this is a standard set of ebony armor, given that there are no enchantments on it; the only reason I use it is because it's a very early source of ebony equipment.

 

I've been using BOSS to set my load order so as to minimize errors, but I'm starting to get sick of losing save games; is this an issue with the armor? The mod? Am I just out of luck and should start removing equipment before any sex act?

Hey! It's pretty difficult to tell what exactly causes this but my bet's on a mesh. Can you provide further info, please?

 

Does it crash on male / female chars?

Does it crash trying to apply boners to a char?

Do you use body replacers?

 

Don't worry, I am certain this can easily be fixed, it's likely just a missing mesh or wrong skeleton or something similar, so don't fret.

Compounding this, when I started a new game I could freely remove and equip armor without any crashes AND have sex with armor being removed.

 

But anyway, I'm using Robert's Male Body Replacer, which again, I don't have any issues with when it comes to my new game; I can freely equip and unequip whatever I please and the game happily does so without any crashing.

Okay, that *is* weird. May be a mod conflict, though, or a buggy mod that poisons your game after a while. Care to post your mod order?

Baconminion, you need to post your actual load order either using OBMM (hit import/export, then view load order and then copy it and paste it here) or via wrye bash. As you are no doubt aware load order is critical with regards to oblivion and mods! The lovers mods need to be down toward the bottom of your load order to make sure they are not overridden by others. BOSS puts them up high in your LO which can cause issues. BOSS is great for most mods but terrible for lovers.

 

I am guessing that you are using the AIO 2.8 OMOD and even if you aren't you should see the proposed load order that they have (see the tech assistance spoiler then example load order): http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=2810

Don't know, if that is related to your problem, but I had a problem with ctd when removing my toons clothes, too, when wearing a certain outfit.

The armor in question is lethal majesty and I was heartbroken, bacause I love that armor.

But finally found the solution: The problem was the 1st person skeleton. Lethal majesty uses bones my (growlf) didn't have. After changing to coronerras 1st person skeleton all is fine now.

As Lilalu suggests, it might not be the actual undressing that is the culprit if it only happens for you. But if it is, then it could be caused by a hidden token that is force-equipped on you (noremove flag). This happens with bound weapons as well, for instance. If an npc has a bound weapon and you ty to access their inventory through non-vanilla means, instant CTD as it can't remove the bound weapon. If you can't find what token it might be, you could try FormID finder, to show a list of all items currently equipped on the player including hidden, nonplayable stuff.

Ok, i've got a very similar problem now. I crash randomly when removing armor/clothes from NPC's. This started from the crashes at the sex start, then i started diagnosing the problem and found that i RANDOMLY crash when using removeallitems from NPC's.

Randomly means i made a lot of test runs with the same NPC's, and found no relation at all. There were 5 npc's in the room, and crash can happen on the first one(right after load), and on the last one.

Females also crash the same way.

 

Any ideas?

 

edit: i tried newgame already.

 

edit2: i disabled every lovers plugin and it's still happening. I just run around Bruma stripping everyone on sight.

It could be occurring due to a weapon/clothing/armor or other mesh that has no world model. I have seen a couple of mods that were sloppily put together that either didn't have a world model or one that was not included in the mod. Might be worth noting to check out the inventories prior to striping folks to see if there is anything in common either on a particular item or from a particular mod.

I doubt that's the problem here. Crash happens randomly, i can "removeallitems" an NPC perfectly fine one time, and crash on the same NPC next time.

I just deleted my tweaked oblivion.ini and started from vanilla one. Crashes are gone! Currently trying to find a parameter inside the ini that causes this.
