Blue mouth...

Hi,

 

I have a problem with my char in skyrim, after installed several mods, her and the npcs mouth, tongue, and teeth went purple/light blue.

I had apachii skyhair,so reinstalled the fixes because I knew it means some of the textures missing.

It fixed the problem on the npcs, but not on my char.

I have hundreds of mods installed so it is a bit tricky to find out who is the culprit.

I am using bodychange, apachii skyhair, demoness hair.Maybe a hair conflict?

There is any way to restore the mouth textures without removing the mods or reinstalling the whole game?

 

Overwrite them with something maybe?

I remember purple things in skyrim... like tree... or other world part even character was missing texture.... Check your mod and verify if they are installed properly

That's a different head part texture that probably didn't include those parts that are now purple. I've added head/face mods before and had this happen. The fix was to reinstall the texture I used before.

 

In my case, I was using SG Texture Renewal then added some other face texture I found somewhere. Then the mouth went purply-blue. I reinstalled SG and it was back to normal.

Hmm..maybe this is it,but in my case it is a bit complicated.I have bodychange and 9 different body (mesh and textures).

All head textures have been copied from the original(CBBE) sg textures.

I will try to reinstall the sg head textures and copy to all body types.

Lets see what will happen.

I doubt hair textures could do that.

(*First, if you're doing all this manually without really knowing what you've installed when or where, stop. Use a mod manager like NMM, or if you're not really sure what a mod does, download it manually first & check the filepath to see what it is trying to do before you decide if you actually want it).

 

*Possibly* "Realistic Teeth" if you installed that. If you did, junk it immediately, and install "Smile in HD" instead.

well, I use boss, NMM so not completely new on mod front.

I haven't installed realistic teeth, but i will give a go to smile in hd, maybe it will fix the problem.

I already replaced all the female textures, first from scratch, then from an older saved textures library wich hasn't got this problem.

Still i got blue mouth as a result, so I think there must be a mod conflict here....And just on player char...

If this smile is not working then I don't have any ideas....

I've never had any problems like that with Facelight.

 

 - Go to meshes\actors\character\character assets. Do you have femalehead.tri, femaleheadraces.tri, or femaleheadchargen.tri? If you do, what happens if you rename or remove them?

 

 - Does the problem still appear if you deactivate ALL your mod plugins in your NMM plugins list (*leave Skyrim.esm & Update.esm on)? If so, switch them back on one by one until the problem reappears. When you identify the mod, junk it. You've got a pile of sex & race mods there - I wouldn't be surprised if it were one of those given the bugs & incompatibilities they're generally riddled with. Regardless of what's going on with this problem, I would REALLY take a look at that mess & decide which of those you actually need.

 

 - TES5 Edit 1, TES5 Edit 2. Pronto.

 

 - You're using a "Character Making Extender" plugin, but I do not see ECE?

 

 - It sounds like you may have assets lying around from previous manual install activity, in which case installing/uninstalling via a mod manager won't touch them. Do a manual "search" in your Skyrim folder for the terms "mouth", "teeth", "lips" or "head" & see what comes up. Also, using old saves to try & troubleshoot this is probably not a great idea, as those saves may be dependent on content you no longer have installed. What happens if you start a NEW game?

Huhh this was a very very good and detailed answer:)

 

I am using ECE too, I dunno why not on the list, but I got it ingame as well.

I tried a new game, and tried a non custom race (breton) Bamm....blue mouth.Yay...

Yes I got a buch of mods sex and race mods, it would be silly to say I need them all?

Of course would be good to find wich is the guilty one. I try to turn off al the mods.

 

Update:

 

turned off all the mods.

What I left was skyrim, update, dragonborn, dawnguard,heartfire.

 

so the officials and a live another life mod just for the quick start.

 

Good news: the problem seems not active mod related.

Bad news: still got blue mouth.

 

Things what not included in NMM (manual install)

 

SG textures, Coverwoman (for options) and the body mod (with bodychange----at least 7 different body mod and textures of course all their own identical body change folder (so they are not mix and match)

 

I already tried to reinstall the meshes textures to the original body mod (CBBE and SG) no use.

I dont have a clue now what is going on if the problem is not mod related....

If you switched everything off & it's still there, it may well be something you manually installed. Did you do a "search" for things like mouth/lips or those .tri files?

 

If you're using ECE, you *SHOULD* have an ECE plugin in your list. It seems odd that you do not. Uninstall ECE, check to see if the problem is fixed, re-install ECE, and check again. You have a number of appearance & race mod plugins that I'm not familiar with, so I have no ide if it's any of those (it may well be - I just don't know).

 

Does this happen with both male & female? With every race? Knowing this can help you narrow-down the location of any problem.

 

*Also, just noticed - your trees mods are incompatible with each other. See the little warning BOSS gives? Pick one, uninstall the other.

ECE is on the list I just checked again.

It is on the end of the list right after charactermaking extender.

Now it is all pretty much f****d up now.

The problem until now just was with the player character, now several npcs got it too, but just the females.

I search for mouth lips now.

Race is redguard...and nord too..so I guess it is not just one race.

 

for example I got Mirabelle Ervine and Faralda both have blue mouth.

But in the mages guild the others are fine, and in witherun none of the ladies have blue mouth.

I found the tri files. I removed female headraces.tri

Nothing happened.

removed femaleheadchargen.tri too. CTD.

removed femalehead.tri. CTD.

 

Found mouth files.

At this point you will probably not find a solution or cause.

 

So . . .

 

Make sure you have the archive files for all the mods you wish to keep and follow this guide to get back to Vanilla Skyrim:

Once back to vanilla, re-run the launcher to reset your ini files, and start adding mods back a little at a time.

The issue may also be embedded in your saves as well.

For anyone who is getting this problem:

Finally i found the source.It is a texture issue and probably the culprit can be found in the facegeomdata folder.

What I will do now is to make a copy of my textures/actors folder as a backup when I have a fresh install and don't have blue mouth.

Whenever I get it,just replace the actors folder with the backup.

Sorry I couldn't be more precise, but I believe it must be a facegeom issue.Facegeomdata mostly altered by follower mods, especially which are modifying the original followers(for example Lydia or Farkas.)

Of course maybe this alteration won't cause blue mouth itself, but maybe it is clashing with some cosmetics mods.

 

So make a backup.
