Delayed Attacks & sound (Melee/Arrows) [SOLVED]

Hi there,

 

Recently I've been experiencing some strange behaviour during my gameplay starting with delayed arrow shots and the sound coming up to 5 seconds later...

 

I can literally shoot an arrow (with no sound), move to the side and then watch it appear in midair and land on the area targeted moments before - with of course the bow sound coming later too.

 

I googled a bit and saw people have the same issue but it would appear they saved in sneak mode and they could quick fix by saving and reloading.

My issue is constant however, no matter how i save/load.

 

I realised i've also got this with my melee weapons now. For instance slashing a wall (without lag) and the sound coming after the hit.  You can imagine how annoying this is...

 

I tried removing animation mods as I thought they had maybe screwed up the syncro between sound and animation, but without success.

I don't think my PC's performance is the cause of this, as I've been playing Skyrim with no problem these last 2years.

it happened to me before.

delayed all activity inside the game and when I take a look at my papyrus log its over 800MB. save got corrupted by scripts from uninstalled mods

no choice but to start a new game.

You confirmed my suspicions...

I will try cleaning my savegame and post a reply saying wether it worked or not for the sake of helping other potential readers who may be having the same issue.

I would be careful about installing a script-driven mod by reading first anything about it and user feedback. Also, the wrong Papyrus settings may cause some problems, including the wrong/oversized iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes value.

Fixed by:

 

1) Cleaning the save with THIS

2) Then using - I really recommend this for salvaging heavilly modded savegames - THIS

 

Saving saves IS possible. I nearly lost over 200hours of gameplay twice. Each time it was because of old running scripts.

 

Read the guide and stick to it though. Make backups also. Never delete old savegames.
