questions on HGEC, DMRA, BBB, and other stuff

I've been using lots of the guides on this forum and a few things still aren't entirely clear to me...

I can't find a "plain old" DMRA mesh kit anywhere. I'm also not sure what's the "best" HGEC pack to get.

Do most folks go with a stand alone skeleton kit for BBB and pair it with NoMaaM? Is there a better combination? Is it entirely dependent on what outfits you have installed and what they are optimized for?

By installing HGEC, I'm changing the nude models for all characters, yes?

I was hoping to install the Moonshadow and Chocolate Elves races, though it sounds like Chocolate has dependancies on the Corean mod. I was wanting to install the high texture skins for HGEC from TESnexus http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20022#content but I'm worried I'll jack up the texture files if I don't do things in a proper order...

Internal, I don't understand what you mean by a plain old mesh kit. If your just wanting the body mesh you can rip it out of the DMRA mods from the nexus and install it yourself without any of the "extra" stuff the mod may contain.

Again, best HGEC pack is totally subjective. The bbb one that is the most popular is: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15802 However there is a great deal bundled in with this mod. Another alternative is: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34442 which is a compilation of the above but has a no animations build perfect for pairing up with NoMaaM.

As for skeletons unless you are using a mod that demands a special skeleton (like DR6 or UV2 or Vipcxjs high heel system) then most use growlf's "universal skeleton" as it is the latest. Note: Use the Controlable Skeleton version.

Yes if you install HGEC then ALL females that are nude will default to it. Thus if you use a non-hgec revealing armor that shows skin it may look bad and/or you could also have seems at body parts. There are ways around this via using a setbody mod which would allow you to "fix" that npc and or yourself via a spell you cast.

Remember also that you can't mix and match armor parts of different body types and expect it to look perfect. Best thing is to pick the body type that matches your taste in clothing. Or if you have two favorites (say DMRA and HGEC) then grab a setbody mod. Link for the most compatible one with lovers: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39966

As to your last comment: Make a backup of your game prior to installing the mod in question so if it does mess things up you can just wipe the slate and do something else. :)

Worth a shot. I'm annoyed that I can't find a DMRA with BBB (ass and boob wiggle) omod or files... I think I found one at one point, but can't remember the durn file name.

Here's some of my personal favs. Make sure you have the right skeleton as greg mentions...plus a good set of skin textures. Installing one of the many Set Body mods available would also allow you to toggle between various fancy bodies for both the PC and NPCs. Females in my Oblivion install range from fat to thin, tall to short, A cup to...well...BIG. Pretty cool once you get it all set up. Now getting the clothes/armor to match all those bods...that's another story.

As well, you'll probably want to add this and use the deepest breaths if you want a whole lot of bouncing.

I'll have to check out the set body mods. I've gotten to where I feel pretty confident about a "base" set up... general install, official patches, unofficial patches, putting in HGEC body meshes, doing the high rez skin textures, installing the corean, moon elf, and chocolate elf races, basic animation packs, BBB, and some clothing...

The folks on this forum have been really patient with my nubness as I've tried to power through "I've installed a mod from a CD, yay!" to "I converted an 'omod ready' file to an omod and figured out how to use it! I r teh learns moar about teh textures n how they work, lulz." I continue to be humbled and very appreciative of the replies I've gotten :)

I'm about to start making some efforts to do the wonderfully pervy mods now that I grasp the basics better. The set body sounds like it could be fun for that :D Even if not doing pervy stuff, I'd love to have more variety to the size and appearance of NPC characters in my game. I'm already a little intimidating about what it'll take to figure out a set body and get the more "serious" mods running stable (lovers, hentai dungeons, etc.)

Setbody is really not a big install step from where you are now (however DO make a backup before install this or anything in case it blows up or you don't like it). This version http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39966 of setbody is pretty nice. All you have to do is walk up to a npc and cast the setbody mod on them and they change. Now note if they aren't naked then you won't see much difference as the clothing mesh overrides the body mesh until they are naked.

Another scenario is you could change them to a different body type and then give them clothes to match that and then the change will be apparent.

Note: you of course can also cast setbody on yourself to change your body type :)
