ATE CBO Patch

CBO compatibility patch for After the End

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3192256710

Requirement:

This patch needs CBO Unofficial to work

The patch is 3 separate mods.

ATE CBO Base makes ATE compatible with CBO Unofficial Base. (contains portrait modifiers)

ATE CBO Animation makes ATE compatinle with CBO Unofficial Animation. (contains carnal court files)

ATE CBO Mesh contains the blending shapes for CBO, this reduces the chances you would see clipping issues.

Last updated 2025.03.30:

ATE CBO Base 1.2.1.zip

ATE CBO Animation 1.2.zip

ATE CBO Mesh 1.2.zip

Merged file (ATE CBO Base + Animation + Mesh) :

ATE CBO Patch 1.2.1.zip

Changes:

common/bookmark_portraits:

common/dna_data:

common/ethnicities:

  Added the CBO genes.

common/genes:

Added the no portrait gene to weights

Disabled some of the CBO genes, so ATE ones will take precedence.

  Merged legwear.

common/scripted_triggers:

Changed some of the references to catholic, like ATE does.

events:

  Fix conflicts with carnalitas.

gfx/models/portraits:

Re-exported the meshes with CBO rig, same with animations.

Merged the .asset files for male and female body/head

gfx/portraits/portrait_modifiers:

Merged the changes, so ATE changes take precedence.

gui:

Merged the changes done by ATE and Carnalitas.

Load Order:

ATE

Carnalitas

CBO Unofficial Base

CBO Unofficial Animation (Optional)

CBO Unofficial Mesh (Optional)

ATE CBO Base

ATE CBO Animation (Optional)

ATE CBO Mesh (Optional)

Finally, now we just need the Carnalitas compatch.

It should mostly be fine, i patched the birth and pregnancy events against Carnalitas, and also the character window gui file. Not sure if anything else is needed for Carnalitas compatibility.

This gets rid of the cowboy hats, so I can't use it. Need my cowboy hats.

What is your load order? This mod should have no impact on headgear.

Come to think of it I think you're right, it's Carnalitas Dei that doesn't work.

Here. It's 82mb for some reason, I don't know if it's normal for it to be that big lol. Also, when I try to use your CFP patch when I'm playing the base game, it will crash after the initial loading screen 90% of the time, but it will work just fine when it manages to launch.

Also, if you want my entire load order with all my mods
ATE
Carn
CBO
CBO fix
ATE/CBO patch
Better Barbershop
Physical attributes
fair ladies
real eyes 2.0
lazy's skimpy accessories
lazy's skimpy accessories CBO patch
regula magistri
clear notifications
duel overlay
RBT: raiding sound alert
more game rules
no death cascade

error.log

Hi, based on that load order, the issue is with Lazy's Skimpy Accessories, it would probably need a comp patch with ATE to work, otherwise it will conflict with the gene and clothing changes made by ATE.

Physical Attributes would probably also need a comp patch.

Maybe even Regula Magistri, in case ATE made some changes to religion (most of the logs in the error logs are related to Regula Magistri not finding the vanilla religions)

CFP would also need a comp patch to work with ATE, otherwise same issues as Lazy's Skimpy accessories.

I don't use CFP with ATE. I said when I was playing base game the CFP patch doesn't seem to work. I'm going to uninstall all my mods and then download all of them again and add them back one at a time and see if and when it breaks again.

I keep getting an error related to this mod (i think it doesn't say where it comes from) but it still crashes/refuses to load on start with only cardinales and a better barbershop and subsequent mod for cbo and all i did was move the mods from the zip folders to the mod folder (no effecting the mods) and i don't know if its just my computer or not

Hello, you might want to look at;
### Primary Spouse
            ao_container_secondary = {
                visible = "[CharacterWindow.ShouldShowSecondary]"
            }
line.
It's causing the spouse not to show, thanks.

I have no idea how to fix this so I just straight up deleted the gui folder. Seems to be working fine thus far

Graphical issues happening, even when the only mods active are ATE, Carn, CBO (Unoffical), and this mod.

Hi, can you be a bit more specific? or a screenshot?

Items if clothing are pushed over, others are blacked out, etc. I'm not sure how to screenshot it, but you can see it from the opening screen if you start fresh for example, at least in my game. Seems to be a combination issue of mesh and graphics itself I think. I also checked without the compatch, and it does indeed seem to be a compatch specific issue.

Can you share an error.log? Also can you make sure to do a clean install of the mod? only thing I can think of is you extracted it out without removing the old version, then the clothing from the old version would take effect and that could cause the issues you are describing.

Not sure how to get the errog.log without a CTD tbh. As far as clean installed, I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times with full replacment. If it helps. I'm using the (combined) patch version, rather than the seperate mesh/animation/etc mods.

Hi, the error log is also generated with CTD, so that should also be fine, I'm interested in the startup logs, where it loads the meshes.

It's not CTDing (thankfully) with them, so I'll have to figure out how to get the log somehow. Any suggestions? Otherwise with me luck I suppose. Apologies for my incompetence in this.
