How does body weight work for CBBE?

CBBE has the option to change the body for 0 - 100 weight. But how are NPC bodies weight defined? Are they randomized?

If you install cbbe and don't build a different body in bodyslide NPCs will use that body. If you do build a particular body in bodyslide, NPCs will use that body.

 

If you want NPCs to have differing body shapes, you should look at bodygen.

The NPC body weight is set in the esp. This how, e.g. Ysolda is slimmer than Hulda. (The height is in the esp too.)

 

e.g. In BS if you set your CBBE 0 weight body to have a flat chest and your 100 weight body to have XXL breasts then if Ysolda's weight is, say, 25 she will have small breasts etc while Hulda at, say weight 80 will have larger breasts etc.
