How to use Outfit Studio to fix outfit clipping issues.

Recommended Posts

Because my account is about to be cast into the flames of Mount Doom, I wanted to do one last service to this community.

This thread is for people like me who struggled with understanding how to use Bodyslide's Outfit Studio feature to fix outfit clipping. I spent years trying to figure out how to do this, and everywhere else I looked, no one could give me the answer I was looking for. So, here's an easy guide on how to do it.

Once again, special thanks to my friend, @Alessia Wellington for teaching me how to do this.

1. Go into Bodyslide.

2. Click on Outfit Studio in the bottom right corner.

3. Now that you're in OS, click on "File" in the top left corner. In the drop down menu, select "Load Project".

4. A list of your outfits should pop up. Find the one that you're having clipping issues with.

5. For outfits with multiple pieces (which is pretty much all of them), this menu will pop up. Select the piece you want to fix.

6. The outfit should pop up with the body set automatically to the "zeroed sliders" preset.

7. To set the outfit to your preset, select "Slider" at the top.

8. This menu will pop up. Select the drop-down menu to find your preset. Select your preset, and the body will be set to it.

9. Before you can edit the outfit with it set to your preset, you'll have to do one more thing. In the menu on the bottom right, select one of the sliders. Which one is irrelevant. Upon selecting a slider, it will automatically go to 100. Remember the number of the slider before selecting it so you can set it back to that. Why you have to do this, I have no fucking clue. I didn't make the fucking thing.

10. Now, onto the reason you came here. Fixing the clipping issues. To do this, select the part of the piece you want to fix in the top right menu. For this demonstration, I chose the "Cuirass".

As a side note, you can hide pieces or make them like a wire-frame for... whatever. Do this by selecting the icon to the left of the outfit piece.

11. Now that you've selected the piece you wish to fix, select the symbol that looks like it has a tumor. This is the "increase mesh" tool. I don't use the others, because that one is all I use and it works just fine. You can play around with the others to see what they do. If the brush is too big or whatever, select "Brush Settings" above the top right menu to tweak the brush to your liking.

(Disclaimer: You may not see clipping in the outfit while in OS, but just remember where you saw the clipping in-game so you know where to edit it in OS. Also, you will have to go in-game to see if it was fixed. If the clipping is still there, that's fine. Just leave, do some more tweaking, and go back in until it's good.)

12. Now that you've fixed the outfit, save by selecting "File" at the top, go to "Save Project", then click it. Your progress is now saved. But there is one last thing you need to do.

13. Go into BS, find your outfit that you just edited, and hit "Build". Now you're done! (Remember, if the clipping is still present, just keep tweaking it until the problem is resolved.)
