Starfield Just Needs Some Sex Drugs and Rock 'n Roll

Recommended Posts

I agree with many people that Starfield is not perfect, and can feel a little outdated. My hope is that Bethesda's choice to keep working with the same engine, quest system etc, will however make modding a matter of evolution, instead of having to reinvent the wheel.

I'm approaching about 100hrs in-game and for me the game just feels very clean and safe, while I associate BGS games with grimy taboo topics. But that just made me realize that I haven't played a BGS game without LoversLab mods for ages. It's LL mods that make BGS games fun for me.

So I've been looking at the game mostly as an empty shell, a platform to build something amazing on. From that perspective it seems this game could offer more LL variety (using similar systems) than ever before.

(WARNING: Some minor spoilers for people who havent played at least 10ish hours)

Some examples of how LL could 'fill" the current SF universe:

New Atlantis:

Faction-related Quests:

  • Corporate Espionage (Sleeping with businesspeople for information)
  • Corporate career (Sleep you way up the corporate ladder)
  • Religion sex-cults
  • UC Compromised Officer (Blackmailed by officers as a UC soldier/agent)

Prostitution possibilities:

  • High Class Call Girl (Requires UC citizenship, apartment)
  • Cheap Import (Non-UC citizens could hook in the downstairs area)

Neon:

Faction-related Quests:

  • Drug Dealer
  • Clubber girl/boy (Roofied in a club, dates,VIP room etc)
  • Adult Entertainment (Stripper, Porn Star)
  • Bondage/BDSM/Shibari-themed Club

Prostitution possibilities:

  • Desperate Junkie (Addiction-related prostitution)
  • Stranded spacer (Trapped on Neon, need to make enough money to buy a ship and leave)
  • Neon Geisha (Requires Neon citizenship, high class call girl)

Akila City:

Faction-related Quests:

  • Damsel in distress (Kidnapped by gangs, specific baddy)
  • The Town drunk (Addiction related)
  • Become a Pimp/Madam

Prostitution possibilities:

  • Saloon hooker (Cowboy-style prostitution, think WestWorld)
  • Pimped Prisoner (Pimped while in prison)

The Key (Crimson Fleet):

Faction-related Quests:

  • Enslaved by pirates (taken prisoner and sold at the Key)
  • Become a slaver
  • Rescue a certain enslaved person

Prostitution possibilities:

  • Slave Hooker (Make money for your owner)
  • Punished pirate (Pay penance by becoming the Key's free-use girl/boy)

On ships:

Quests:

  • The ship slut
  • Blackmailed by crew member
  • Mutiny (the crew takes charge, you have to submit to them)
  • Adoring Stalker (Adoring fan, blackmail/exploitation)
  • Tentacle/Creature Infestation

On planets:

Quests:

  • Tentacle-infested planet/cave/location
  • Captured by local baddies (slavery, prostitution)
  • Beast Lover (Get perks or space magic from mating with alien creatures)
  • Marooned (left naked and helpless on a liveable planet)
  • First Contact (Discover an intelligent alien race's breeding facility)

These are just some ideas that popped up in my mind.

Any thoughts on these ideas? Any interesting ideas that came to mind during your current playthrough?

I also think there are ways for a new main quest where you find an intelligent alien race, get abducted by aliens, ways to interact/submit to late-game enemies, or even NG+ twists, but I'll leave those out for fears of major spoilers.

It needs sex appeal absolutely. Every character is so bland and forgettable. But I guess this has always been the job of modders.

Amen, I'm curious what The Key will look like in a year or two if it's filled with slavery, bondage, prosititution, for instance. Right now it feels very empty, but that's just space for modders to play with, IMHO.

Let's hope the CE is released soon and that animations etc are relatively easy to port or recreate.
