This mod will add a new mechanic to the game: stomach capacity. Stomach capacity is a measure of how much food the player can consume before feeling full and becoming unable to eat more without consequences. Stomach capacity can be improved with a higher endurance. Different foods will be more filling than others and will fill up the player's stomach capacity more than others.

 

The mod will add some drugs as well that can help to control any negative effects, and even allow for more food to be eaten for a temporary amount of time.

 

The mod aims to make food consumption more challenging, as well as to incentivise players to cook food with better stats than the raw ingredients; normally, players can just carry around a bulk of the most basic ingredients and cram them down when needed, but with a limited stomach capacity, cooked foods will provide a much better benefit than the ingredients used to make them, and thus they would be more viable than the ingredients themselves.

 

The two new drugs this mod aims to add are stomach expanders, which will allow for more food to be consumed at once; and metabolism depressants, which will reduce the speed at which the player becomes hungry again; it slows the decay, which increases the length of time food remains in the stomach, and as a result any effects being applied by food are increased to scale.

 

Eating too much food will have some negative effects as well, such as a slower movement speed, and possibly even emesis.

 

The mod will contain an MCM that will allow the player to decided not only the base size of the player's stomach, but also how much is added per endurance level. The MCM will also allow the player to alter how the bar appears on the HUD, if it appears at all, or only when eating, or under a negative effect; and it will allow the player to change it from an icon (stomach) to a simple bar that takes up less space.

 

Now, there's no need for a hunger mechanic to be added as that's already included in the survival mode of Fallout 4, and likewise, there's be no need for the player to use the restroom either, the bar will simply decay over time allowing more food to be consumed; this is really just a method of preventing the player from eating ingredients without cooking them first by incentivise cooking above not; however, I assume mods could tie into this if they really wanted to.
