Horse mounting animation bug. Skyrim AE on PC. Closed due to it being bugged save

I acquired this bugged animation. A video is the best way to describe it.

 

I use SC Horses, Convenient Horses with a Serana Dialog Add-on patch.  The game has been running fine. Being some good time since I rode a horse, I've no idea when this failed.

I've done these (not in order):

  • Checked recent uploads and updates
  • Done the usual conflict checking
  • Removed the Serana Dialogue Addon CH patch in case it was bugged.
  • Cleared Nemesis out and rebuilt it
  • Validated the game files
  • Tested other horses (same problem)
  • Done the usual disable/enable resetai, etc.

 

Before I go through the intensely painful process of cutting out mods to find the culprit...

has anyone seen this kind of bug before and able to suggest a course of action?

 

I use MO2.

try deleting Data\meshes\actors\character\behaviors\0_master.hkx

test it

then try deleting Data\meshes\actors\horse\behaviors\horsebehavior.hkx

then test again

 

if problem still happens then it's something esp related, if not then Nemeishit is doing it.

Nemesis....

Did you ever check an error log created by nemesis ?

It opens pex checking animation. Wonder how this is working on heavy scripted setups.

I never thought to do that but I will now.

I have also discovered the animation is working in saves right up to very recently, so I guess something bugged it in the last four saves which were, oddly, indoors.

 

I'll be back...

 

OK, I confess, how do I get Nemesis to generate an error log, please?  I can see Nemesis at work in the Papyrus Log, but it's not telling me much other than checking NPCs.

I have to put this down to a bugged save.

 

The animations work perfectly up to three saves ago. I'm not sure how, but the Dovahkiin has been naughty in Breezehome and ruined her game. Tut tut.
