Hey guys, I got IPBanned from Nexus LOL so here I am..

Anyways I'm not gonna bother making a pretty description for here cos the one I made for nexus took like an hour and I have no mood to do that again

 

TLDR

Spent 30+ hours editing and working on shadbase assets (Shadman, Jlullaby, Spazkid) to fully retexture commonwealth's billboards

 

 

NEED HELP FOR INGAME SCREENSHOTS

Do you have a sexy smexy ENB that doesn't absolutely DESTROY your computer?

Do you have a mod that hides your UI? (Immersive HUD by Gopher)

Well, Professor Axolotl is looking for players who will gladly contribute In-Game screenshots of these billboards!

I'll be updating my favourite ones to the official images!

 

NEED HELP FOR TESTING

I no longer play fallout 4 as much but on initial testing, I noticed some posters having green screen lines on the side/having excess transparent space of which I've fixed but I'm sure there are still a few strays I left out..

So if you are playing with the mod, do help out by screenshotting the specific poster and posting it in the replies for a fix! I'll be sure to update ASAP thank you very much!

WHAT HAVE I DONE???

• Retexture every single billboard & poster (except for the few that I like) in fallout 4 
• Hand edited each advert to fit into Fallout lore (eh as much as I could.. my marketing diploma can only get me so far)
• Logos and assets were either tirelessly made from scratch (60%-70% of the shit were made from scratch) or lasso'd out in photoshop and given a fresh coat of paint
• Added overlays of actual rust and what not to weather it down (May have missed out some but maybe in my next update)
• 22/7 I've decided to release my poster retexture and if you've noticed that I've left out a few, it is purely intentional and I do not intend to retexture the non retextured ones ie, Mr pebbles or hell even the anti-communism ones (loved the design and artstyle of those posters)
• Posters update should also fix some specific billboards that for some weird reason decide to use poster textures rather than billboard textures (????)

 

WHY DID YOU DO THIS

I don't like any of the billboard/poster retextures out there and I love Jlullaby lol

Only if I missed out on any original textures, so far there are still a few textures that are recycled from my previous edits but I don't intend to make much changes to this mod other than a few more new ads next update

These files have been recycled over some of the "Tall billboards", but you don't see them much anyways in game but I might update it just to be knitpicky

WHATS NEXT?

For this mod, I've still missed out some textures (refer to top spoiler) though not much, I am abit of a nitpicky fucker and I'll also be adding the overlays over some that I missed (Juke + something i cnnt rmr off the top of my head) so expect an update file

 

Well, if you have a poster retexture mod, you'd have realised some "Billboards" have poster textures on them

Well fret not, my poster retexture is pretty much done but it still needs some work

I'm also intending on retexturing magazines with Jlull and Shad assets, recreating layouts and logos for the magazines and what not but that will take abit of time so it won't be prioritised unless this mod blows the fuck up or smt lol 

UPDATE 19/7 I realize there are many many more great mods out there for this and I would probably just add on to an already saturated retexture project so gonna decide to not do this

Thanks for the mod, I finally got a chance to check it out for this current run.  One thing I noticed is that somehow there's a billboard across the Drive-In screen at Starlight.  This made me a little nervous at first because I was curious if that would impact repairing the screen and watching movies on it with Videos of the Wasteland.  I just tested repairing the screen and it looks as it should now.  I just wanted to post this in case anyone runs into the same problem.  I double checked that it was this mod making the change by exiting the game, disabling this mod and checking the screen again.  Then I enabled this mod again and took a screen shot.

 

Here is what the drive-in screen looks like before you repair it:

I remember when i was still starting out with photoshop making this, so bad.... might revisit this for the next update

I have to admit I was a little afraid of touching all the Commonwealth billboards because I have a low-end computer with 4Gb of GPU but I haven't experienced any performance hit that I don't already have. I wanted to write this comment first, but I wanted to wait and go around the world. Quality work, all very nice (at least for my taste). I post some sample photos but I don't have ENBs to highlight your work, I would just like to show how the experience of wandering around Boston changes. I hope you will continue your work maybe adding something for the billiboards workshop.

Hey PariahOh! Thank you for the screenshots! 

 

I've been busy with real life stuff for awhile now (and a copious amount of cyberpunk) but I'll be sure to add on more in the coming months!

 

I've just revisited my poster replacement files and with a little bit of tweaking, it should be ready soon (no promises~)

In terms of "Billboards workshop", I'm not very sure you can add billboards via the workshop right...? (or am I missing some mod that everyone has except me :O)

Keep me updated ? I'll do what I can after my posters mod

Also, the reason why this mod doesn't affect performance is because all the billboard textures are meant to be 512x512 or 1024x1024, I'm sure I could make 2k-4k versions but with the current resolution, I'm already very happy with it and I don't really have intentions to make upscaled versions  so happy gaming!

Nicely done?. I can't even imagine how much time and effort it took to put together those billboards across the Commonwealth.

I seem to have seen some blank buildable billboards but I don't remember if it was the SOE Pack, Homemaker, SSEX or Workshop Rearranged (maybe this one). I can't check for now, I changed computers and as soon as I finish I'll tell you. I don't think I have any more performance issues going from a 1050 TI to an RTX 3080, but the job was already great. I am looking forward to a new edition. Maybe here

Gosh i think a new edition is very very unlikely, took me way too long to make these and I do not intend to go through that again hahah  Do let me know on the specific mod though, will think about it and contact the mod author for permission if I do decide to make it

This update fixes unaffected billboards as well as a majority of textures in the wasteland!

I'm interested in using this mod in my current game, but I'm curious about which of the three files I need. Do I need all three, only two? It seems like, judging by the content, that plugin plus .ba2 only includes the billboards, while the two loose ones combined covers the billboards, advertisemnet posters, ans bus stop signage.

 

So I'm guessing the two loose ones are what will cover everything. Right?
