mcbuzz Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Is anyone willing to converse http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/14889 for this body http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/8524 ? If not could I at least get some help on how to do it? Just started using blender.
nagothm Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 A simple way to make skin tight clothing fit easily is to use the Shrink Wrap feature in Blender. You can find tutorials on it by searching google or bing. Basically you take the stockings mesh, specify the body mesh you are shrinkwrapping it to and use shrinkwrap with the above surface checked. you can modify how far above the skin it is 1 or 2 pts is what i do. It automatically "shrinkwraps" it to the body mesh. It really makes it fast. You might have to make a few small adjustments around the feet but usually it is perfect. The only trick i found is that you want the stockings mesh to be covering the body mesh before you do it (nothing underneath the body mesh) otherwise it can shrink strangely sometimes.
mcbuzz Posted February 28, 2013 Author Posted February 28, 2013 Couldn't add "bodyX" next to "ob", feet seem impossible to fit in stockings ( even with shrinkwrap ), but thanks for the advice anyways.
nagothm Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Here are the steps with pictures. http://apcsazhosting.com/fallout3/ShrinkwrappingTutorial.pdf Take your time and if something isn't working right go back and check the steps. The steps take about 15 minutes to complete. I also included the fitted stockings mesh already done and ready to put in the game. There is another one with the Exnem body still in it if you want to practice with it. I would recommend that you try and get it to work for your self though. http://apcsazhosting.com/fallout3/ExnemStockings.7z Shrink wrapping is a cool shortcut for making skin-tight meshes but it compresses them to a single layer, so for clothing that is supposed to look thick, like armor, this wont really work. But for stockings and such it saves a ton of time.
mcbuzz Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 Your replacement doesnt fit exnem body, but I'll try to make it fit via your tutorial, thanks for help <3.
mcbuzz Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 I don't think modding is the right thing for me, could you please fix this for me? I should totally stick to web-sites and programming, this seems pretty hard to master and I didn't really intend modding much, just wanted to finish one animation donkey started and convert this stocking, but even the stocking is bugging me.
nagothm Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 The stockings were fitted to the Exnem body replacer http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/8524. As you can see in the last screenshot they are on the Exnem Body. If that is the body you are using you just have to drag and drop that mesh SexyLegs.nif into the correct folder Data>Meshes>StockingsPack>F> and overwrite the SexyLegs.nif that is already there. Done. Can you post a screenshot of the mis-matched mesh so i can get an idea of what might be wrong?

(non-important part below) http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/2808/screenshot3by.png http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/7407/screenshot2we.png http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/9127/?tab=3&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodimages%2F%3Fuser%3D0%26id%3D9127
nagothm Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 How does it look when your character is just idling, not pointing the weapon? Is the leg still sticking through?
nagothm Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I think i might know what is wrong, let me try something. *Got it.* It was my issue. I must have rotated the body mesh just ever so slightly while working on the stockings. Try this mesh in game. I just tried it on my rig and seems to be working fine now. ExnemStockings2.7z
mcbuzz Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 Thanks for the help Unfortunately the suit I'm using makes the stocking clip, but it'll probably be usable on other clothes at least. You can't imagine how grateful am I.
