(Solved) Issue with respawning Deathclaw!

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I have tried to find a solution for this from everywhere but can't find anything even closely related to it! I have a problem in my save game where this Legendary Alpha Deathclaw just keeps spawning over and over again. I have killed it three times now with the help of Ivy companion etc. My character is level 12 so this enemy is kind of overpowering. After I kill it I can wander like 5 minutes and then it spawns again saying "You sense that you are being hunted!" And every time it is Legendary Alpha Deathclaw! It ruins my game because I can't explore anything and it breaks my immersion. I have a heavily modded game but I don't have any mod that is causing enemies to spawn more often or making them harder. Changing difficulty doesn't help! Please if anyone has any clue for how to fix this, I would really appreciate it!

EDIT: I have found the 'cause of this and the problem is now solved!

Not calling you a liar but are you sure you dont have any mods that could be doing this?,  as it doesnt seem like vanilla behaviour, especially with the message about being hunted, one mod that springs to mind is SKK Combat Stalkers, that mod adds various enemies including creatures that spawn and hunt you down quite regularly.  The best thing would be if you post your load order (prefereably in a spoiler) and we can take a look.

do you have SKKCombatStalkers installed?

because it sounds like that

there should a holotape for its settings (because SKK doesn't use MCM because of XBox's(I think))

So here is my Loadorder:

Some of the esp:s are merged but like almost only Armors and Clothings! Some paintings and posters, Anatomically Correct Feral Ghouls addons and Family Planning Enchanced addons! That's about all merged ones!

Well theres nothing that sticks out as a culprit that i can see but you do have a lot of mods with abbreviated esp names so its hard to know what they actually are.  Only thing i can suggest is try installing this https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26582?tab=files

The next time it attacks you, open the console and click on it to see which mod it's from (if any).

I tried that but it just says Unlocalized: Undefined, Localized: Fallout4.esm...and otherwise only thing that shows up is Fallout4.esm! But I think the creature is from vanilla Fallout 4. Something just keeps spawning it over and over again near me when it dies! Always with a same notification: "You sense that you are being hunted!"! And always the Legendary Alpha Deathclaw! Maybe it's a bug? But if vanilla Fallout 4 doesn't have that exact notification, I don't understand how it could be!

Nope. That is a fresh save game with that mod load order and I haven't removed anything after I started that saved game. Is it possible if some of my older save games that might have got some kind of mods doing that are interfering with this save game?

Link to comment

Before I find an solution I guess I just run away from it and leave it to be at the point where it now spawns! (Near Abernathy Farm) It seemed to work as temporary solution as it seemed to stay in that area if I got away from it. Not sure if it de-spawns and re-spawns again if I go far enough though! OFC I will try disabling mods one by one at some point and see if that helps me finding the culprit!

I'm no expert on these things but I doubt an old save would cause any problems like this.  I suppose some scripts etc could have been left behind when you uninstalled a mod, I dont know if this happens with vortex but its pretty common with nexus mod manager.

If your familier with xedit you could try and search through the esp's in your load order and see if any of them make changes to deathclaw level lists etc, maybe some mod author changed something but didnt put it in the mod description?, it will be pretty time consuming but just a suggestion, if you dont want to start a new game, that being said theres no guarantee starting over will fix it.

I think it might be Family Planning Enchanced More Creature addon or FPE Deathclaw addon. At least I can't really think anything else. I also have quieter Deathclaw footsteps but I doubt it is that one. Need to try and start with them. Might try xedit if I can't find it otherwise. I'm 100% sure I am not starting a new game. I also doubt it won't fix it. But I'm tired of fighting with this issue right now. I try them tomorrow. Thanks for your help anyway.

both of those mods don't have the "You sense that you are being hunted!"

More Creatures could do it but something had to go really wrong with it to do that

the only way I can think of would the Deathclaw Hatchling which hatches from hostile deathclaw eggs.

FPE Deathclaw doesn't do that

this is what I would do if I was you

download and load xEdit with all active files

look for Legendary Alpha Deathclaw (maybe the NPC Leveled list as well)

look at Reference By Tab at the bottom of the app

sort it by file

have a look at the references for an answer of some kind

Only ESMs and ESPs that shows up in there are Fallout4.esm, DLCCoast.esm (Far Harbor), DLCNukaworld.esm (Nuka World), DLCworkshop01.esm (Don't remember which of the DLC workshops this was). FPEAIOCreatureAddon.esp and AA FusionCityRising.esp! Maybe it is an issue with Fusion City Rising and FPE Creature Addon? I'm gonna go look the exact ID again and see where it is referenced to!

Link to comment

It is not Fusion City Rising or FPE AIO Creature Addon. At least uninstalling them didn't do jackshit! I'm guessing I should look the problem from that notifications point. Not the Deathclaw. It is just a normal Legendary Alpha Deathclaw but some mod is spawning it and showing that exact "You sense you are being hunted" notification. So now I'm trying to find something related to that.

Okay I'm like 99,99% sure (not 100% 'cause I don't trust my luck) that I found the 'cause to this. And now I'm banging my head against the wall 'cause I'm stupid and don't read mod descriptions. (Well usually I do but in this case I didn't)! It is caused by Advanced Needs 2 Expansion #4 - Menstrual Cycle! "You will need to wear these every day of your period. If you dont, it might just cause predatory creatures to spawn, tracking your blood-laced scent." There it reads as clear as day. It is related to tampon use of that addon! I didn't use them. Also I verified this by disabling the addon from MCC: Tadaa...no spawns! However the addon kind of bugged out a little! Because I turned off the need to use tampons and take care of hygiene! But that is understandable because at first I had those on and later turned them off! So problem solved! Still Thanks for both of you for trying to help me out!

HOLY CRAP!  Thank you so much for figuring this out.  I must have been hunted by like 20 of these guys just going down the block.

You're welcome! I remember it was a total pain! Game was unplayable in my opinion 'cause like you said they are spawning way too frequently!

You are my savior. I didn't know what was causing this and I was pretty desperate.

Do you happen to have instructions for AN2? I'm sure I've overlooked a few things so far.

Unfortunately I only play AN2 when it is no longer officially available.

I don't know how helpful this is, I found it via the wayback machine https://web.archive.org/web/20201112021917/https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/40440
