Need help with FNIS

You did not receive any responses because you didn't make it clear what mod you are using with FNIS and what specifically the problem is. Installing FNIS itself is easy. Download the Behavior files (the one marked as ALWAYS BECESSARY) with NMM. Double-click FNIS in NMM to install it. Then find the 'data' folder for skyrim. Inside should be a 'tools' folder. Inside the tools folder are 2 folders for fnis - open the one called 'GenerateFNIS_for_Users'. Right click the .exe file in the folder and select 'Run as Administrator'. The will run the Generator needed for any of the FNIS related mods. Click Generate (or whatever the name of the button is). If you get no errors, then it worked fine. IF you get errors, then you installed something incorrectly and need to reinstall FNIS. When it's done and you have no errors, close the Generator. It will then ask you to put a shortcut on the desktop. Say 'YES' or 'OK'. FNIS is installed. And all of what I told you is in the instruction for FNIS in the description in Nexus.

Next install what ever mod you are trying to use with FNIS. Follow the instructions for that mod EXACTLY (some mods like AP require you to delete a couple of FNIS related files to work). Again, read the description for that mod and follow the mod directions exactly. Once you have installed all of the FNIS related mods, then run the generator again. You should be good to go then.

Something to note - the current version of FNIS (3.3.2) works with 1.8.151 ONLY. And it will not work with pirated versions.

When you install the spells, you should get an alert asking if you want to update FNIS. This is a "feature" of NMM so that when there is an update to a mod, you can install the updated version, which uninstalls/replaces the files of the original install. Thing is with multipart mods like FNIS (main file and separate spells), the mods are tied together internally by the mod dev (could be something as simple as a name setting in CK), so NMM thinks it's an upgrade. So when you got that alert, since this is not truly an update, you should hit "No". This installs the second file (spells) as a separate mod from the main FNIS files. I have a feeling you hit "Yes" on that alert. Easiest thing to do is uninstall both, install main FNIS again, then install the spells, and remember to hit "no" on the alert. The spells themselves are not necessary to use the FNIS-related mods, they are just spells to activate dance animations included with FNIS main (unless you're using a mod that replaces some base FNIS animations, which no mod should do now).

You hit the nail on the head. "No" worked like a charm. Thank you very much. Always seems to be the little stuff like this that gets me.
