Constant infinite loading screens and random CTDs (Windows 10)

So I recently installed Fallout NV again and despite playing it heavily modded in the past, I never had such extreme problems with it (yeah, I had CTDs and such, but it was usually easy to tie to a mod or something).

Anyway, now it's barely playable, every loading screen is like playing roulette whether or not I'm gonna be stuck with an infinite one again or whether it actually loads into a new area (which when it works sometimes only takes a couple of seconds). Then I get constant random crashes to desktop, triggered apparently at random, because they sometimes happen when just walking through the desert, other times are when loading a new area (if I get through the loading screen), drinking bottled water (I am using the mod for bottling water, but I doubt that's the problem here, since the crashes don't happen every time and have other apparent random causes too) etc... as I said, sometimes seemingly at random when just running around. Also Quick and Auto saves take forever half the time, which never has been an issue for me before with NV, so I don't know why it has become one now...

 

I tried using YUP, 4GB Patch, NVAC, NVSR and now the new NVTF and a combination of all of those, but nothing seems to help, it's really frustrating... using NVSE and latest Extender of course.

I think you are missing Fallout Character Overhaul, but still have some FCO plugins active

 

What yu could do is disable all and enable the first 25 mods, test, and if it works repeat it for the next 25 etc.

 

I also noticed some mods I don't know, or that might conflict

Sounds fix is this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/50101 which is just realized is included in YUP, so I might as well uninstall that one.

 

What do you mean about FCO? I downloaded and activated it via NMM, got the .esm and .esp files, am I missing something?

 

Anyway, if nothing else helps, guess I'll have to try the hard way with disabling mods again, I was thinking this might be a Windows 10 issue though, because I've been reading up and people keep saying the game has issues on Win 10... currently I'm running with YUP, NVTF, NVSE + Extender and JIP LN NVSE plugin... using the 4GB patch leads to an additional crash with the "out of memory" message sometimes, so I stopped using that, though it is weird, since I'm running with 16GB RAM and a GTX 1070 Ti, so if anything my PC should be too powerful to handle the game, not run "ouf of memory"...

I know a badly configured NVSR can cause issues you described. I'm also not sure about Clean-QuickSave.esp=1

 

About FCO. I only see the FCO's at the bottom. I might be needing new glasses, but I don't see the ESM in the loadorder.

 

I haven't used NVTF before, so I can't really judge that.

 

oh. and with such a big load order you NEED a 4GB patch. If the first doesn't work, there is another one in my 'list of mods' thread you might want to try.

FCO .esm is there, I had to look for a bit too until I saw it.

Alright, will look for the other 4GB patch then and give that a go and if nothing else works I'll probably do the mod deactivating/activating play, even though I absolutely dread it already...
