Additional Parts

Yeah, I know I said that I was just about done making new parts for this. There were a few more things that I wanted to squeeze in.

First, I'd been considering a way to use the Dwarven Devious legs with this since I first tossed the arms from that set in, but was figuring that I'd only really be able to use the lower legs and would have to build something entirely new for the thighs since it wouldn't have the restrained human legs in the model. So I'd been putting it off, but decided the other day that I might as well toss a few things together in Outfit Studio and see how things looked. The first thing I discovered was that the top of the DD leg meshes lined up very well with the new Edhildil leg caps.

Since that meant I could use the existing thigh structure with one of my current hip interfaces, that solved the biggest problem right off the bat. The next question was what to do with the empty leg space. It obviously needed to be filled, since it was not built for exhibition, and the main bulk of it was easily done with a use of the vented pipe piece. But that still left the restraints for the shin and foot empty. I could have painstakingly separated them out from the rest of the mesh and folded them up into the thigh, orrrrrrrr...

...I could do something much quicker and fill them in copies of the Lexicon Stand rod. This approach doesn't make as much sense, maybe, but y'know what? It looks pretty good.

So, yeah. Got something perfectly workable, and with only a half-hour's worth of effort instead of the four or five times that I was expecting. I can live with this.

Second, one of the things that got me started on this particular project was a desire to have all-robot bodies for the new parts I put together for the -BAF- project, particularly the beast limbs. And one thing I wanted to build to go with those beast limbs and failed to get into the -BAF- set was some kind of theme-matching headgear. At the time I was thinking along the lines of horse and dog/cat-shaped helmets made out of Dwarven parts, but I could never get together something that I liked. But when I was making masks out of the SeXtreme faces for this thing, I started thinking about how I could probably do the same thing with parts taken from Vanilla models...

These are a bit silly. The position on both is awkward, and the horse head is way too large, but I wanted to avoid deforming the meshes to get them to fit over the face structures. And accepting that they're a bit silly, they do kinda work.

Interestingly, since I did take those pains to fit these over the face structures, these almost work as masks on the normal Skyrim heads.

The mouth ends up clipping through in a completely acceptable way on the sabercat mask through sheer happy coincidence, but the hair and the ears are issues for both. The hair I can take care of with the 'shavers' in the DCC Extras pack, but the ears I can't really do anything with. They are at least obscured on the saber mask, unlike the horse where they're popping right through the cheeks, but if you look at it from behind you can see where they're occupying the same space as the earplate elements I use as all of the mask's mounting points.

So, y'know, not ideal. But even with that these are still more usable with the Vanilla faces than all of the human masks. I had to build those to pretty much the same volume as the Vanilla faces so they'd fit into the existing headgear, which means if you try to use the mask on a Vanilla head the faces basically try to occupy the same space.

And given how much more pronounced the Vanilla brows, noses, and chins tend to be, there ain't no fixin' that.
