Feedback

Hi,

even without feedback on my last post in the dreamghostsblog (wich makes me feel a bit insecure) I wish I could continue to work on Adelheits story. I started it cause someone told me to try and it felt good to know that you guys liked it, even though I've implemented my own personal fantasies, wich can be extreme at some point. However, Skyrim is the perfect playground for sexual fantasies with a lot of possibilities to justify absurd characters and storys, perfect for unskilled authors like me  It was fun to work on it, but right now there is little to no motivation to continue. Without any feedback I'm not able to know if it's worth it to publish my ideas and I know on the other hand, I have never given feedback to someones work. I have no right to complain. I try to change that in the near future and hope to get my motivation back, so that Adelheit finally finds her way into the world of unknown pleasures.

Ari Noir out.

After reading your previous entry, I believe that your thoughts and reasoning are mature and insightful to your perspective. You presented a clear train of thought regarding sexuality and society based on experience and observations, as well as your outlook on reality vs the "gameworld". I agree that Skyrim is a healthy outlet for personal fantasies.

Although I have only recently viewed your stories, the composition of many images is evident to the amount of passion and time that you put into them as well as illustrates your artistic creativity on the subject. It's unfortunate that you no longer have the motivation to continue and I encourage you to take a break. Hopefully, you will find that passion again! If not for the sake of welcoming others into your fantasy, publishing your ideas may be cathartic and enjoyable just for the sake of publishing them for yourself. At the very least you should have the satisfaction of knowing that others here have enjoyed your stories (whether they have posted feedback and other comments, or not), and we look forward to having the pleasure of viewing more of your creativity.

The only thing you can do is give feedback to others. The more you do it, chances are they will do it in kind. Not always, but keep at it.

I personally think your motivation shouldn't come from other people's 'feedback'.

As you know creating these kind of stories takes a lot a lot of work and I don't think 10-15 hours or more of your free time just in exchange for some nice words and a couple of likes are a good deal.

If you like creating these kind of stories do them for yourself. Posting and getting 'feedback' is in my opinion just the icing on the cake. The cake itself should probably be working on these stories in the first place.

Btw. I've seen your last blog entry on your main blog and I don't understand why it didn't update the blog itself and was shown as 'new'. I was just hidden away on page two or three thus there was no response. I assume this was a bug of the new forum software.

Concerning your last entry: I think this depends heavily on the culture you live in. Here in Europe people are a lot more liberal when it comes to sexuality. It's not a big deal when games like the Witcher (Polish studio) have sexual content. Fifty shades of grey was free starting at age twelve in France...

I honestly don't understand why Americans seem to be super tolerant when it comes to violence but so restrictive when it comes to sexual content.

As far as I can tell they are even more liberal on this topic in Japan/Korea, but that's just my perception.

My main point is, that it heavily depends on the culture you live in.

First of all, thank you. Your comments show me that you have really thought about my words and even re-read my last post. I appreciate that very much. I know it can be a tedious topic. One would think that I have no other forum to talk about such things and up to a certain point that is actually the case. It depents also on interests. My girlfriend for example is very open minded, but she's not really excited about sex as a talking point. Konversations  about sex are difficult to start with her or she ends up talking about Guildwars2. That doesn't she's intolerant, but simply not that interested. At least not as much as me. Maybe it's the hormones, gender, familybackround, friends, education or a completely independent property. I think it's a little bit of everything.

Concerning my Dreamghostblog Alter Native: Your right the maincake IS the work itself, it is what I enjoy the most and I wouldn't do it without that enjoyment. As soon as I'm inside the machine, it refuels itself, if you know what I mean. It's what keeps me going during the production. Between productions however I hide myself in a deep, dark, hole and hope that someone throws a flower down or says that it's ok to come out. I'd like to say that I don't care about what others say but insecurity is a part of me. I can't put that away or ignore it. But I can be aware of it wich makes it easyer to handle and I handle it by speaking openly to you.

Regarding the bug: I had concidered that, too. I hope everything will work fine soon. Must be an immense efford and I appreciate that effort.

The Gauntman: I'll try to find more time and read others posts and give feedback.

Very educated expression  Do you like writing reviews?

I think you should do ^^

I will take a break from dreamghosts and spent my energy on other priorities.

But chances are very high that I'll be back very soon.

This is actually the first time that I've felt compelled to write a review. I usually retain my thoughts for myself but entries like yours urge me to encourage and support authors/artists in these types of situations. You'll find that many others here are emotionally supportive of one another, and I hope that you're able to recharge your energy in a healthy manner. Please don't hesitate to reach out and strike-up a healthy conversation with us.

As stated by Alter Native, your productions should be about you and doing it for your own sake. "The cake itself should probably be working on these stories in the first place." True, it is validating to be given positive and constructive feedback, but producing a blog for others' sake is mentally draining and typically not enjoyable. I would consider it similar to developing a video game. Based on my knowledge, there are some which radiate with glorious passion, intellectual depth, innovative ideas, and enthralling narratives. In short, these are the games which were developed by people interested in creating and sharing their passion.

On the other hand, there are games published for the sake of catering to others (or rather making money). These lack depth, thoughtfulness, or longevity. Ultimately, these games are forgetful. Although people take interest in them for some amount of time, they are typically far less fulfilling for both the audience and developers.

I would encourage making a story purely for yourself, if you feel the motivation to write. Just you. If you are comfortable sharing it, then great! Otherwise, there's no harm in exploring those ideas for yourself. I'm confident that your fans or other LoversLab members would enjoy bouncing ideas with you. I doubt anyone here would be opposed to discussing sex-related topics. The most difficult part would be working up the motivation to find people that share your sexual interests, but that may very well be much simpler than it sounds.
