Alice's Tale - Chapter 2: Searching
DISCLAIMER: I know Alice didn't have horns before, but I saw the mod and couldn't help it. Just use your imagination for how she got them.
Alice woke up early in the morning. It was her day off, so she took advantage of the opportunity to follow a lead. She heard news of a vampire near Riverwood and wanted to investigate.
Alice was more than aware of the potential danger, so she was going prepared. She made her own crossbow that was more compact and easier to handle than the bulky ones normally available.
Alice arrived outside the mine, where the vampire was supposedly hiding. She found a dead bandit with visible bite marks on his neck and became more aware of what she was walking into.
"Damn," she thought, "Maybe I shouldn't do this."
After thinking for a moment, Alice decided to proceed into the mine. She drew her crossbow and entered the mine, which was very dark inside. Alice now had no doubt there was a vampire there. As she walked through the mine, she found more dead bandits, drained of blood.
Eventually, Alice found the vampire! Putting her crossbow on her back, Alice got down and looked at her. She couldn't believe it! A real vampire!
The vampire was looking down at a dead bandit, mocking his dead body.
"Stupid mortal!" the vampire mocked, "Did you really think you could defeat me? Ha!"
Alice was now truly afraid. This vampire clearly had no intentions to do things peacefully.
"Maybe it was because they attacked her." Alice thought, "Perhaps if I show that I'm not a threat, I can reason with her."
The vampire walked up the ramp to Alice's left. Alice stayed put, waiting for the right moment.
However, things went south almost instantly. The moment Alice stood up and revealed herself, the vampire attacked! Alice drew her weapon!
Whatever spell the vampire used stung badly as it ripped Alice's blood from her body. Alice raised her crossbow and fired a single shot.
The bolt hit the vampire in the heart, killing her. Alice walked over to make sure the vampire was truly dead.
As Alice expected, the vampire was dead. However, she didn't feel happy or relieved. Alice felt sad. She finally met a vampire, except it was anything but what she had hoped.
Alice sighed and thought, "I guess it was to be expected. Still, I would have loved to have been her friend. Maybe she could have made me a vampire. Being a mortal is boring."
After looting the place, Alice left the mine.
However, as she got home, Alice felt ill. Her head hurt, her stomach churned, and her body felt weak.
Upon entering her house, Alice stripped her clothes off and laid down. Almost instantly, she fell asleep.
The following day, Alice got up and went to work. She felt better, though... off.
Upon arriving at the inn, she ran into Dorthe.
"Hello, Ms. Alice." she said before her face turned to confusion, "... Why are your eyes... glowing?"
"...What?" Alice replied.
