Believing in dreams?

> I am not talking about dreams as synonyms of our desires, hopes, and wishes, but dreams as the "product" of our sleep.

> Just as many people believe in horoscopes, many also believe in dreams. I do not say that some dreams may not come true, but I wouldn't blindly trust them. Not going into wide interpretation of the source and meanings of the dreams, I just want to tell you how some dreams burdened me and made me cry like the dreams my luvs are leaving me for good. So, dreams can affect our emotional state for some period of time, but they cannot determine our close and far future if you ask me.

Which brings us to the question: Why does the eye see a thing more clearly in dreams than the imagination when awake?

Dreams are true while they last, but, we do not live in dreams.

Unless of course we are living in the Matrix......then all our lives are a dream. ?

I dreamed to be in Rome and I was communicating in fluent italian with the people all around me.

It was nice

And then, I woke up. In reality, I can speak barely enough to order basic food or to get on the right train. :classic_unsure:

I rarely get to remember a dream, though that may be a good thing.

:classic_blush: At least, I don't get arrested in Italy when I mix up my barely existing italian knowledge with spanish, sprinkled with french  if I don't know a word ?

Hmm, I get about 5 to 6 hours sleep a night with usually only waking up once.    I tried to find out why some of us don't remember and as of 2013, the research was still trying to find out.

Interesting topic.

According to MNT...

Possible explanations include:  representing unconscious desires and wishes

interpreting random signals from the brain and body during sleep

consolidating and processing information gathered during the day

working as a form of psychotherapy

My take. I have had lots of dreams that came true, years prior to the events.

I dreamed of a particular house, couldn't see any of the surroundings just the exterior of the house and the unique way it was built and trimmed out. Found it driving through a town in Kansas that I had never been to before that day.....Still don't know why that house.

I could go on but....I believe, that dreams are somehow connected to Genetic memories, along with the other things Doctors say they are.

What I mean is, I could take apart cars and car parts and rebuild them at 10 years of age. Oh you are mechanically minded....No my dad was a mechanic, his dad was a mechanic, his dad was a mechanic, well you get the picture. I received those "Talents" genetically at inception.

I think some dreams could be the memories of specific "special" areas of interest from our lineage.

I dreamed of my step Dads death 2 years prior, and other events that weren't so critical.

My mothers side of the family had what they used to call Foresight.

The rest I have no Clue
