How is Starbound?

The last time I looked into it there was hardly any content to make it worth playing. Like one or two boss fights and that's it. So how is it coming along now? Worth playing?

A lot of things have changed since the early beta. They've even added challange dungeons, some which i actually failed

Just recently added some sort of colony system, where you can build a house and have a villager move in.  They don't really give anything worthwhile.

Crops now need to be watered regularly to keep growing and producing produce.

 

Nothing else has really changed (for the good, anyways), so I wouldn't bother reinstalling.

Not to mention theres no way to teleport back to surface/ship  from underground...god why they changed that.

Last time I played it progression was locked by quests, no thanks.

Yeah, it is still blocked by quests. Or I somehow missed an update that changes it. It was much, much better with "build everything from tier 1>boss fight>tier2".

It also has big problems with mods after each update.

It is kinda.. like that, but theres a quest where you get into a special instance with a dungeon and/or boss.
