I'm not sure of it, but it may be an issue with the latest versions of S4S. I noticed that after one of the updates made on the past months, new exported blender files, opens with all the joints, that were hidden before, visible. So, it seems plausible that some information gets corrupted or has some errors when exportin a mesh to blender.
