Breaking down enemy leaders/ransom

i had an idea, manly for barbarians and Dominion style empires.

Why not have series of special projects for the kidnap of enemy leaders.

Things could start with low level beat the enemy admiral and capture him/her,

How the ransom system works- you gain a special project (at your capital planet) of torture and breaking of the captive (simply letting them be) depending on ethics. will require a lvl 1 general to be in charge. The mission asks you how you want to treat the captive. some examples

1-keep him under house arrest until they come up the ransom

2-throw him into a prison until his people can pay up

3-torture the prisoner publicly to encourage his people to pay up

4-strip him of his rights and the masses treat him as an animal

5-forcefully perform surgery on him to torture him

6-perform genetic surgery to torture and forcibly turn the captive into one your species (this results in clone also being made wish can handed over instead which will provide active sensor data for 2 years)

how you treat the captive depends on the reward you can collect. But there are risks too. The captive could be rescued by spec ops teams. the captive could die. Your general could be killed. You could loose troops. An enemy ground force or fleet could spawn at your home world. having a high lvl general will help improve your odds of getting good rewards.

On to the rewards. at the end the special mission. you are given some choices some examples

small energy

med energy

large energy

small minerals

med minerals

large minerals

be warned that you don't ask for too much. They can say no send a spec ops teams. Your general could be killed. You could loose troops. An enemy ground force or fleet could spawn at your home world. But the worst case scenario they tell you kill the captive cause they don't want it anymore.

this is just a random idea i had.
