Failure 2 process Regd animations if PC has DD Armbinder/Yoke

This has been driving me nuts over the last couple of days, so TIA for any serious suggestions you may have - well the printable ones, anyway  :P

 

First, apologies for the wall of txt, but it's easier to explain this way. 

 

Second, further apologies if this is in the wrong place!  If it is, please tell me to which thread I should go.  I did raise the issue first on the Cursed Loot thread as it's easiest to demonstrate using DCUR, and Kimy leads on lot of DD stuff, but I doubt if that mod is the cause, so I've moved it here. 

 

The Problem:  I'm finding that DCUR sex attack events fail to generate an animation properly if the PC is equipped with a DD mod's Armbinder, Yoke or Locked Gloves. 

 

If the PC is equipped with anything else by way of restraints, DD or otherwise, the on screen 'Playing Animation: xyzwhatever' appears normally with an appropriate Animation Name, and the scene progresses normally, with an appropriate animation, at the location at which the PC is.

 

But when the PC is equipped with a DD Armbinder, Yoke or Locked Gloves, the On Screen animation message comes up blank.  ie it just shows

     

        'Playing Animation:           '

 

It's not as if nothing else happens though.  The event starts, the antagonist NPC is selected, the screen message appears saying 'Playing Animation:    ' ie a 'blank' animation name is returned.   The antagonist NPC 'disappears', and then after 5 to 8 secs the PC is, if outdoors, teleported to the Giant's camp on Whitereach Plain, elevated into the sky to the antagonist's location (a stray platform from another mod), an animation from a limited range of ZAP Armbinder or Yoke anims plays (although the actors are wrongly placed and remain so on moving the animation stage forward, the antagonist then disappears) and the PC remains on the platform until prompted to fall to their death, a 1000 metres down :).  Whilst doing this, using Sexlab tools, one can often see that there are normally 3 or 4 seemingly appropriate animations which are available to be/can be used and it is even possible to switch between them.  The one playing (at least initially) is prefixed '$Zap_Armb_' 

 

From an indoor location, the action is moved to some grey green foggy void, but the NPC and PC both normally are returned to the starting point   

 

There is a thread elsewhere about the PC being teleported high up in the sky above the the Giant's Camp in the Whiterun Plain, and I have looked at that and tried the solutions that others thought that they had found, basically cleaning up Sexlab and the Zaz animations, to no effect. 

 

None of this malarky seems to happen if the PC is equipped using the 'DDYoke' or any other yoke, from the ZazAnimPack as that is removed in the course of the event. 

 

I have spent about 12+ hours testing the conditions for this and have dozens of logs,  Using a DCUR event, for which the logs seem to be clearest, this almost always shows a crash at the point shown below ie the zbfSexLab.psc DefineAnimation.    The normal progression from then is a heap of stack dumps like those shown, as shown in the log extract below [initial problem in Yellow and green txt for some of what happens afterwards

 

Kimy's take on this when I first raised it was that the move to the Giant's Camp resulted from the setting of the location marker being screwed up by the general mayhem, which may well be so given that the right location is used for events happening if the PC is equipped with other things.

 

On the other hand, 'Defeat' generated Sexlab events started when wearing these devices do appear to progress relatively 'normally', on terra firma, where the Defeat event occurred.

 

Both do seem to screw up at the same point though, when trying to initially set the appropriate animation

 

The [yellow and green] DCUR related log extract below came about when DCUR initiated an Attack Event, based on its set MCM conditions satisfaction, on the Yoke equipped PC. 

 

That was immediately after a Defeat scene, involving the same PC equipped with the same Yoke, had initiated, run through, and ended - although the animation generated via Defeat was not a Yoke limited one, but one selected - I assume - from the range of tags set in Defeat.  The [blue text] log extract for that part of the action shows that 'Defeat' failed initially at the same point, ie the zbfSexLab.psc DefineAnimation, but it seems to use a different type of routing for the rest of the scene via zadQuest which, on failing to find a suitable animation, seems to have something akin to an error trap of some kind, which reverts to a 'working alternative' and doesn't produce the weird teleport effect 

 

I have umpteen logs for this, but the basic entries covering the issue all tend to follow the format shown below (although not all extracts show the entries relating to filtering, some just go straight to the scene of the crash  :)

 

I have now tried to sort this problem by

 

- using a range of saves covering some period of time,

- rebuilding and cleaning Sexlab

- unregistering all SLAL NSAP and ZaZ animations, adding back only the Zaz ones to the native Sexlab ones

 

all to no avail.

 

FWIW, I have also added my latest full log here - all non sexlab and ZazAP animations unregistered, with DCUR used to trigger events

Does anyone have any idea what I should start looking at to see if there is something else I might try to fix?  I've think that I have tried all the other normal things, like adjusting the bound animation filters and so on 

 

In particular, what 'none object' might zbfSexLab.psc DefineAnimation be trying to find when the PC is equipped with an Armbinder/Yoke?  Is it looking at Sexlab or Zap for an animation that is completely missing?  Or something else?

 

Any suggestions from anyone would be welcome

Does that happen only when triggered by cursed loot?

And as a workaround, switch off the DDi restrictions for bound animation and the first one (or try one of them and see if that helps). That should at least solve the ZAP anim stuff. Beeing teleported is a bug in sexlab, it has nothing to do with cursed loot. I can't read those logs anyways, but since both problems seem unrelated to DCUR, i doubt anybody will find something in your extract... and please use a spoiler. ;)

Thank you for the reply!  I have 'spoilered' the repetetive chunks to leave just the most salient parts  :)

 

1 - I'll try your suggested workaround, just in case I missed it as one of my tested options.  If it works, I'll be pleased to let you know!   :shy:

 

2 - Very glad to know where the weird teleport bug really comes from.  Is there any known fix available - a patch I've missed or something?  I've seen it mentioned other places too, but couldn't find any solution posted under anything that I searched against

1- What i forgot: ZaP has an bound animation overwrite too. Disable that first before you try other stuff, maybe it already works then. ;)

2- No fix yet afaik, Ashal is aware of the problem...
