Amazing Follower Tweaks + Shield On Back Issue

Hey all - does anyone know about the AFT issue where you manage the NPCs gear and strip them completely but they have this eternal shield on their back?

I haven't heard of that bug, been using it forever. But why not use the newly updated and patched Immersive Amazing Follower Tweaks? It has a lot of features and works flawlessly for me so far.

didn't know it existed. i just DLed it and installed thanks but the shield is still on some of my NPCs back. Not a new game tho.

It's definitely not AFT or IAFT causing it. It might be xpmse alternate animations, or something like frostfall. Hard to tell without knowing all your mods and even then I haven't used those so I can't be sure.
