Mod 7zip files are always damaged

Recommended Posts

Guys, I'm losing my mind over this. I cannot download like 6 out of 7 mods because the 7zip file keeps showing up as damaged. Big files are always damaged. I specially downloaded Chrome just to check if it is just a Firefox issue, but it's not. Cleared my registry, didn't help. Is there anything I can do, besides, well, convincing every modder to reupload mods in format that doesn't break - Rar or zip files, because those are always fine.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello, which file (mod) is not working for you.

List me two of these and I will check them.

About "7Zip corruption" try to disable the antivirus while downloading, and then try to open the archive before re-enabling the AV.

Almost all of them, but most notorious is CBBE http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/2666/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D2666&pUp=1 that one won't download correctly no matter how many tries.

Also AV disable did not help.

EDIT: I HAVE THE CULPRIT! It's Steam it seems... game download on Steam interrupts other downloads.

Could be...

You can set up a "cap" on Steam downloads to avoid that.

Yes. however I never had to do that.

I had problems like yours before. It was some corrupted memory. Long shot and based on the fact that you an do rars and others not likely but maybe. Something to think about if Steam cap won't help. I used Memtest and found the corrupted memory. Simple test and don't harm your files. again long shot.
