Still can't get BU motion changer to work

Sorry to dig up a subject that seems to have been discussed previously but even after browsing through these forums I can't get the break undies motion changer to work.

BU itself works, armor decays properly and breaks, but no matter the stance, my char never covers herself.

I tried multiple locations in my load order, disabled all walk mods (umpa's sexy walk in this case) but I still can't make it work.

A thread here mentions that it only works with older versions of OBSE but I don't know if this is verified.

Any known issues with this mod or even a page I could check, or even a single trick or thingy that I did not do?

Thanks

If you are talking about the zzbreakundiesaddonmotionchanger.esp then NO it won't work with BU Framework 2.0 as stonecold11 said above.

You will need to uninstall BU Framework 2.0 and then install BU Framework 1.02. Get it at the nexus, just search for BU framework and version 2 and 1.02 are on the same download page.

OBSE versions have nothing at all to do with it.

Have fun :)

Yes. BUF 2.0 adds an ini file that will allow you to add BU armor easily to your either modified or newly created esp's.

Version 1.02 has no ini and will require you to add/modify scripts in to create\add the armors. Unless you have some knowledge of CS and scripting you will be limited to armor that was designed to break already and has an esp with the script attached to it. Since many of the later armors only include meshes you will be out of luck adding them to the game, again unless you are familiar with both the CS and scripting (or at least adding scripts to things).

Sure,

Adding meshes is fairly easy to the ini. First you need to know the armor/clothing id number. Lastly you need to know the name of the esp that contains the items.

You will then enter this information into the ini. Save it and then go test it. Occassionaly you will have a glitch where the armor won't break. This happens even if you have done everything correctly because the CS sucks.

Sometimes it just breaks the form id for some reason. To fix it you will need to add that clothing/armor back into the esp renaming it to something else. This doesn't happen that often but when it does.....well it can be nerve wracking :(

You will need to have at least two meshes with the armor in different stages (whether you just grab them from somewhere or create them yourself is up to you). And of course you will need to add them to an esp if they aren't in one already.

Personally I make a custom esp that I add my BU stuff to, that way I conserve esp slots.

This thread goes in depth on how to add the codes and where. I would read the OP and then you can skip to the last couple of pages and skim looking for advice if you get stuck.

Feel free to holler on any questions.

Erf, losing the ini would be a major pain in the ass!!

I added most armors to this ini myself as very few are BU ready in the esp.

On the other hand, could be an opportunity to learn. How difficult would you say it is for someone who has no experience in this matter?

Hard to say for sure. Depends on how well you understand the CS. If you don't know how to do things in the CS well it will be a bit of a journey. That isn't a reason not to do it however, because learning how to use the CS will open all sorts of doors for modding to you :)

So there isnt a replacer of all vanilla armors to bu yet right. So if i have to do each vanilla armor mesh and add bu to them. I would need like 1 fixedarmor mesh and 1 destroyedarmor mesh. In able to do that would just be deleting parts of armor with nifskope work?

Also thanks gregathit.

Thanks for the help.

Had a quick look and, while I doubt I could write a script off the hat, there is a distinct chance that I will be able to copy one from a breakable armor (I think the Dancing Shadow Rose armor) and adapt it to other ones.

Gah, every time I mess around with mods, I have more fun tweaking stuff than playing them ...

Vathar, that is the slippery slope.......:)

Once you figure out how to use the CS you may find yourself modding more than actually playing :)

By the way, if you are going to mess with scripts (writing, copying or whatever) you should use the CS with OBSE.

First make a shortcut to the CS somewhere, then right-Click the CS shortcut, and then choose the shortcut tab. Delete everything after the word 'Oblivion/' and then type in the following.

obse_loader.exe" -editor
