urielmanx7 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 The title says it all, a mod that lets you use spells like in oblivion, that is, not having to sacrifice your equipped weapon/shield to equip the spell. I was thinking how a Cleric would be in Skyrim, you know, heavy armor, shield and a mace, casting restoration school magic, then I remembered that in order to cast the spells you would have to be switching your mace or shield, and I was reminded that in Oblivion you can cast a spell no matter what you're carrying on your hand. Â So, basically, is there a mod that does that? Or is it impossible to do?
gvman3670 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 A cleric? Heavy armor and blunt weapon? Â Did you also play D&D too much as a youth?
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 did you already search on nexus? ... i think to remember a mod like that exists, i dont use it, but i think i once tried sth out like that....
Redflyingmonkey Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 There's this spell in the Apocalypse package, it remembers one of your favorite spells and throw them at enemies periodically without you needing to unequip your weapons. Makes some sick combos too, I remember I used something like fire ray coming out of your eyes, and when I was fighting with my sword and my shield, I'd randomly spew out superman's death rays
Khia Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 entirely possible, use SKSE to map a key to your new spell fire button.on that button down you fire the currently equiped spellreal simple shit.
urielmanx7 Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 I found something called grimy utilities on the nexus, it lets you add spells to hot keys, and then I remember that I play with a controller and that doing what I want might be next to impossible to adapt to a controller play style >.<
gvman3670 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 What kind of controller are you using? If you're just using a 360 controller and no software for it then it may be hard to map the keys. But if you're using a Logitech or similar then you can just use Logitech Profiler or JoyToKey software to map the function to the D-pad or something. Â I am using a Logitech and "x360ce" emulator. This also allows some key/button assignment.
urielmanx7 Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 I use x360ce with a usb to PS2 cable for my PS2 controller XD, but I'm all out of keys, as the d-pad is full with hotkeys from skyui.
urielmanx7 Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 I guess I can still put a spell into the shouts button, since I never use them, and use the dpad to switch spells
