Oblivion crash log

Was wondering if anyone knew if oblivion generates a crash log or not. Or if it is possible to get one generated. I would like to be able to view it so that I can see the conflicts of some of my mods and patch them if possible. It's rather irritating that I have the CTD on exit when all the mods are as clean as I can make them.

 

I would just like to be able to get the game as stable as possible so that it can be played for hours without the random crashing. And possibly merge multiple mod files into one esm or esp

Unfortunately it does not generate a log that is usable in the sense that you are talking about.

Wyre Bash is an excellent tool to help make a merged patch that can cure some of your woes.

Tes4edit is another great tool which you can use to clean mods of dirty edits.

Lastly TesGecko can combine small armor\weapons plugins into one esp\esm - I don't recommend doing this with large plugins or anything that has scripts in it.  Use Wyre Bash to make a "virtual" merged file instead.

 

Lastly, don't be afraid to post your load order for some of the veterans to review.

Some hints:

 

1.  When you see this:

----> Delinquent MASTER: LoversHooker.esp

You need to fix it as that could lead to part of your instability.

 

2.   x117race.esp and x117Race ENG Race.esp should be UNDER your MBP files and not way up top.

 

3.  UOP is probably unnecessary.  Why fix something that your two overhauls are already changing?  OOO makes UOP obsolete as it changes so much of the vanilla game already.

 

4.  Probably should have your official DLC up above the FCOM stuff.  If FCOM specifically tells you otherwise then follow that.

 

5.  Probably should not be running:

moDem's City Life - BP Compat.esp

City Life-x117.esp

You already have the From2chan Lives plugins which are adding a SHITLOAD of NPC's into the game (something like 300 plus).  Having these on top of that is just asking for NPC overload and CTD's.

Ok Ill fix those, and the UOP is a requirement for FCOM and as far as the mod order for the DLC that was set up by BOSS so i'm not to sure on whether or not that should be moved for those

 

Edit: took care of those problems, and on a recheck of tes4Edit I noticed that LoversBreakArmor.esp and Lovers With PK.esp have a conflict of not finding a script for scn xLoversCmnAddBreakUndiesMod not sure if that is intentional or nor

As for FCOM requiring UOP......meh.  I think that is probably a VERY old requirement that no one bothered to update myself.  OOO touches almost every single quest in the game, so what is the point of fixing a vanilla game that is already changed.  I don't run FCOM myself, but do use OOO and have NEVER used UOP.  Either way is fine, as that "should not" be the major source of your crashes anyways.

 

BOSS is NOT infallible.  It is a bulk sorter that quickly sets "most" things where they go.  You need to understand what you have and what it does, so you can double check BOSS.  Trusting it blindly just means you'll never be able to fix things if it goes sideways on you.  

 

Remember that you will need to rebuild your bashed patch for the changes to take effect and that you MUST disable all your lovers esm\esp files prior to rebuilding it.  Finally start a new game to test things and see if you notice improvements.
