fallout4 Weird Skin Overlay Problem

I am having this weird skin overlay issue with my game, I tried to use re skin mods one at a time to try and see if it can fix my issue but nothing seems to be working. The skin mods I tried were Silky Smooth Skin, Unfair Skin, 8K Realistic Skin Textures, and Oni face. The only one that seems to kind of work is Oni face but there are still random spots of skin shown in the images. I don't have any other skin mods other than the ones listed and I only have 1 on at a time so I am lost on why this happens.

Are you sure you've installed the requirements? Based on the images, the skin textures aren't compatible with the body your using, once you install the right body, it'll look right.

Thanks for the reply, I tried flipping through all of the preset bodies that I have and they all have the same type of mismatch skin, the bodies are CBBE Preset and the skins mods I listed say that they are compatible with CBBE, so I am pretty sure that they should work together.

It doesn't really need to be those skin mods or the body I set, I just don't want this mismatch skin. So if you happen to have a body preset and skin mod that is compatible with each other I could try those instead.

Hopefully this is what you meant, sorry still kind of new to the modding community and modding games. I've followed various of guides and looked through each mods requirements to ensure that I am modding correctly so no crashes occur.

There's quite a bit there in my list but I'm able to run the game and have no crashes or problems so far gameplay wise, the only issue is that skin for my character.

I use Mod Organizer 2 to manage and install my mods. Installation wise I click "Install a new mod from an archive" at the top left and click the zip files from my downloads into MO2 and it installs them fine.

For load order and such I have LOOT to manage that for me and if I have other problems I also run a scan through FO4Edit to see if it can troubleshoot my mod list.

Unrelated to your body issues, but you have discrete female skeleton, gender specific skeletons and skeletal adjustments for cbbe. You only need discrete female skeleton, remove the others.

Yes, I can tell. LOOT has made a mess of your load order - "Discrete Female Skeleton - Looks Menu Customization Compendium" is at the top of your mod list, yet "Discrete Female Skeleton" is at the bottom!

Thanks for looking through my mod list and helping me getting rid of the mods that I did not need! It helped out my game a lot and fixed some things that had bugged me. Now I just need to figure out the skin overlay problem.

As for XDI all I could find that related to that was Extended Dialogue Interface, which I do have installed so I think I should be good there if that is what it means.

In MO2 I use LOOT because I don't know how and what order the mods would need to be in, so that's why I'm hoping LOOT can just automate it for me.

There are a few errors that show in LOOT such as I am missing esp files, though I don't know how because I downloaded all the requirements for the mods in the list. Don't know if it would help but the esp I am missing are 3dscopes.esp, rpampas.esp, and LegendaryModification2LM.esp. I'll just post some images if that would be of any help.

When I run the game it works fine but I don't know if those will be a problem down the line.

Sorry if this gets off track of the topic I posted... If you can help with these that would be awesome but if not its understandable, you already have been a great help!

Yes, XDI is extended dialogue interface. As for the message about it, as long as XDI is at the bottom of your load order it should be fine.

About the body, are you trying to use unique player with it or are you installing it so replaces both the player's body and NPC's bodies?

 

I can understand why you ran LOOT, as learning how to sort your mods is something that takes time to learn. However, LOOT is only a program and it can, and does, get things wrong. Using FO4edit to look for conflicts, as you have been doing, is the better way to do it.

I installed the mods you gave and one of the errors went away! The ones that stayed are the 3dscopes and LegendaryMod, they are giving same errors as before, seems like it might be a loading order problem? I'll try to look into that.

As for the body I didn't seem to need unique player so I am disabling it. I just want to have my own player and NPC have the right skin overlay for the body preset I choose. It'll be fine if both NPC and Player have same body type.

I can see why a mod like unique player exists, if only Bethesda had made the player their own unique race like they did in Skyrim, but getting it to work is a pain, as I've used it in the past. I just feel with looksmenu and being able to use the indiviual sliders to change the player's body, unique player is kind of redundant now.

I was able to fix it! Don't know if it was right but I just used the Oni Face mod and reskinned the player model. Just did a quick run through the default beginning of the game and everything looks great from the player no longer having the mismatched skin pattern and the NPC also have normal skin too.
