valcon767 Posted March 18, 2024 Posted March 18, 2024 i saw a post in either Commonwealth Slavers or Nuka Ride where someone was talking about a mod that adds a tail to the player. so looking i found these mods by Chemistt (loads of credit to Chemistt for the ears and tails) Animal Tails (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/19108) and Animal Ears (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/19107). after downloading them i tried them out and they work well as they are, but they do use bipod slots, and looking through the other mods i usually have running i realized i needed to try to make them not use biped slots, after figuring out how to have AAF not remove them. so rolled back and combined them, changed them to ESL. (lost my AAF edit during this, but that part will be easy to redo). so found a tutorial (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/56149) and started trying to see if i could make them work without the biped slot usage. (credit to robotized for the tutorial) after about an hour or so i realized i was making a simple mistake and that was why it was not working with the ears (i tried them first). so i got the ears working (they show in game and do not use a biped slot). tried for about 8 hours in total to make the tails work without using a biped slot and just cannot figure them out. i think it has to do with the bone data (yellow box in pic in spoiler) Spoiler i tried over 40 different bone data and they all produce the same results. i can equip the tail (and it does not use a biped slot) but it does not show up in game. i am mostly sure i have to change the NamedNode&SPINE1 to NamedNode&(something else) for it to show in game, but have no clue what it should be. loading the mod with Cat Ears working, and most of the work done to make the Fox Tail work (i think) and hoping someone can tell me what i have to do to finish the job (as i would like to do the other ears and tails).
