GloopityGoop Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 So, I finally sorted it so I no longer get any DLL errors, but now when I launch SKSE, it first brings up a totally black screen, then a second later closes out. I am honestly stumped as to what mod could be doing this, so I'm asking for help on this. If anyone has an insight that can help me, I'd be extremely grateful. Thanks in advanced and hope you have a great day! So, this is the top bit that shows up (scared to show the whole thing just in case it can accidentally make me dox myself): Quote Unhandled exception "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" at 0x7FF7CAFA5846 SkyrimSE.exe+0CD5846 mov rcx, [rbp+rax*8+0x60] I am unsure what that means or how to fix it.
traison Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 (edited) Gonna need the entire thing to do an analysis. Otherwise DIY. Edit: You can also Google "SkyrimSE.exe+0CD5846", maybe you get lucky. Make sure the address matches exactly in the results you find. Edited February 10, 2024 by traison

traison Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Same issue as here I suspect (no solution). Some things do not line up most likely because its a slightly different game version.
traison Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Gonna say this is a mod incompatibility. More specifically a mod with a dll. Go through them all and make sure they were made and tested on 1170.
Bastak21 Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Not that I know but İsn't Penzor addon only available for Legendary edition? İf you tried to install it on SE it can be the problem perhaps? 1

That worked, but now it crashes after flashing the Bethesda logo. Left the new crash log below, and I think it includes the new load order and plugin list? I'll include those as well anyway, tho. Not like they're big files or anything. crash-2024-02-10-18-23-20.log loadorder.txt Plugins.txt 1

I think I'll restart my PC before I play properly, tho. Running low on space to the point it closed chrome when it ran. XD I'll also inform the guy who's list I got that mod from that it is outdated.
traison Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 I assume you're refering to this one? SOS - Az Penzor - Addon*.esp Quite interesting that a plugin made for LE would cause a CTD like that. It did seem to me however as if you were running SE without BEES, so I guess I was sort of on the right track on that one. Maybe this is a recent development in 1130/1170 - Skyrim is actually allergic to Form 43 plugins now?

I think you should be more careful about this while installing mods. Also to let you know, You can use Penzor addon on SE if you convert it with athdral asset optimizer.

Maybe this is a recent development in 1130/1170 - Skyrim is actually allergic to Form 43 plugins now? So, would you reccomend installing BEES? Also, while I CAN get to the main menu now, the game crashes after I hit new game. I do see that the problem /looks/ like OStim, but I don't know how to fix it. Only idea was to replace the .dll, but the nexus page doesn't have any of those loose and about. crash-2024-02-10-19-54-21.log loadorder.txt Plugins.txt

Again, thanks for spotting it.
Bastak21 Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Not sure if it will help you but you can try installing a Alternate start mod if it only happens on new game. I personally use LE version of Extensible Alternate Start. İt's a very light weight and simple mod.

As for your latest crash, issue is definitely in OStim.dll; same issue as here. That thread doesn't really have a fix, so: Make sure its compatible with 1170 if you didn't already. I seem to recall OStim.dll has issues with specific versions of OBody.dll. Edited February 10, 2024 by traison

As for your latest crash, issue is definitely in OStim.dll; same issue as here. That thread doesn't really have a fix, so: Make sure its compatible with 1170 if you didn't already. I seem to recall OStim.dll has issues with specific versions of OBody.dll. Ah, I see the problem now. It says in the guide that "1.6.1170: This is the latest version and the one you can currently download from Steam. Racemenu isn't updated for this version yet so OStim will not work." I initially ignored it since, after looking at Racemenu, this is false and the file on Nexus IS for 1.6.1170, so I took it to mean that the guide was behind but the files weren't. With this in mind, am I outta luck or is there something I can do?

I can't really comment on anything 1.6.* as I'm on 1.5.97 with no intention to move. If you need more information, the best I can do here is look at the ostim.dll in a disassembler and try to figure out what its trying to do where it crashed. If you want me to do this, I want a link to where you downloaded ostim.dll from and exact version numbers of the mod that provides it to avoid wasting time analyzing the wrong dll.

Unless one of the OStim plugins overwrote it, it should be the one from the base nexus install (that I now know is outdated). I'll include the file itself since I don't have a dissasembler and just don't know how to handle them. Also including the OStim file from the crash reports folder since that looks like it might have something in it. OStim.dll OStim.log
traison Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 (edited) OStim.dll+02DC08F (callstack entry 0, faulting offset) resides in Util::Globals::setPapyrusUndressing. OStim.dll+00B056C (callstack entry 1) resides in Events::EventListener::CheckPapyrusUndressingCallbackFunctor. Before this there's a call to RE::BSScript::Variable::GetBool. setPapyrusUndressing takes a bool value which defines the value of doPapyrusUndressing, and it is here where the crash occurs. doPapyrusUndressing is in the global scope (could be a member of a class or something along these lines) and at the time of the crash, the base object it belongs to points to 0x0 (null pointer/not assigned). These functions are called from SkyrimSE.exe+144F04E (callstack entry 2), and its too much work to get a debugger in there so I'm not going to do that. However, if there's a way for you to disable something in ostim that would relate to using papyrus for undressing (or just undressing in general) do that and test again. Edit: BSScript could be an indicator for Papyrus scripts, so consider those as well. Edit again: Here's the toggle for it: [FE 000] OStim.esp (A5F1C640) \ Global \ FE000DB0 <OStimUsePapyrusUndressing> Use xEdit or the CK to change it. It *may* fix the problem, kind of doubt it tho. Ah, cool. I actually just got Xedit (or at least SSEEdit, which said it was just the SSE version of it) when trying to figure stuff out. Currently deploying since I was removing some mods to try and trim the fat some, but I'll open it and try to toggle that off.

Ok, so I found it but I don't know what to do with it.

The code seems to cast the boolean passed to setPapyrusUndressing to a float and assign it to the globalvariable OStimUsePapyrusUndressing. Typically booleans translate to 0 (false) and 1 (true) when cast to a number format. Since the global is 0.0 now, how about 1.0? Here, try this one: OStim.esp Edited February 10, 2024 by traison

I made it into the intro and character creation. I could quicksave, but for some reason hitting "esc" closes the game. Also, as a minor issue, despite having a skimpy male armor mod installed and the SoS patch for it, all the dudes had holes in their crotch. Including the links to the armor mods, patch, and the new crash report and files. Was that what I was supposed to do? I can re-install it easy and put it behind the file you sent if that's what I was supposed to do. Edited February 10, 2024 by GloopityGoop
traison Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Find the mod that replaces Quest_Journal.swf and disable (or otherwise change) it. As for the SOS hole thing, there's been lots of threads about that over the years. I suggest you Google that one, or create a separate thread about it if you can't figure it out.
