Out of memory error despite 4gb oblivion patch

Greetings,

 

I installed the following modlist following the instructions as close as I could to great success. I also added a few Loverslab mods for good measure.

My issue is as follow:

Now I can read the Out of memory error, but everything seems to point to the 4GB patch... Which I have installed. I donwloaded it. I ran it. I opened Oblivion.exe and Oblivion Launcher.exe (also obse_loader.exe). So I am already at 4GB of ram.

 

Now I thought it could be that I go beyond the 4GB. So I started task manager on the side to monitor the increase. I went up to 3Gb but no more. Which I assume prove that the 4GB patch worked (or I would have crashed as soon as I passed 2). I also checked if I still add ram at all. I did. I have 16Gb of ram total, 8.2 of which are free without oblivion. Even adding the 3GB of oblivion, I'd still have more than 4 gb available.

 

Thus why I am here. Anyone know what else could cause this?

How can you have so many Mods?  And why do you have any Mods?

 

You install the game then you test it.

Then you install the tools: OBSE; Pluggy, 4GB Patch , . . .  And then you test the game.  And if the games not work why do you install Mods?

 

And LOOT ! NEVER use LOOT for Oblivion. It's OK for Skyrim but it can not sort Oblivion Mdas.

Your load order is a mess

 

And xLCR.esp is a test esp for Modders ! Delete it !

I did. I tested the game and had no issue each times. LOOT was recommended by the guide I followed, guide which is regularly updated.

The game works. Only issue is that I was running out of memory. I actually added ENBoost and did not face issues since then. I didn't randomly try stuff and I did use tools and followed a guide that seemed good.

 

The only other source I found for the debate between LOOT and BOSS seems to also agree that LOOT is now the go to for mod ordering. I know it's not many sources, but I do with what I find.

 

Putting Lovers' stuff and adding ENBoost solved my issues. Thanks for the help.

During the last years people tell LOOT now works with Oblivion... and then someone has a problem and post his LOOT sorted load order and I see LOOT still can't sort Oblivion.

Latest example: See your messy load order.   It's was a wonder your game didn't crash right on start.

It really didn't. I could move around and everything without issues. I only started having issue when travelling longer distances with lovershorserider.

At this point, the only issue I have is my own fault and I keep doing it because I'm an idiot. I keep putting mods I shouldn't and end up ruining it for myself. So I'm probably going to ignore the blackmail mod and figure out a way to quickly get my dog to immortal status so I can actually play the game.
