My Life with Ivy

In this thread I want to describe my experiences with Ivy. To give the developers some feed back and to document my journey with this amazing female/machine.

 

I only downloaded the mod a few days ago. It did not start when I left the vault after I had begun a new game. I forgot to enable the mod in the mod menu of the game. After hitting 'play' button you need to click on 'Mods' in the left hand menu and manually activate the mods for Ivy. At first Ivy came across like a little stupid teenager (I am a 40 plus player) but I soon found her character very interesting. The personality conflict between the little girl, the raider and the machine/human is very well done and I found myself constantly struggling with it in my quest to discover the real Ivy. I wonder whether there is one. This split of personality creates suspense and worry because Ivy appears to be capable of anything. She might love me to bits for a while and then walk out on me when the machine in he tells her so. I just got her the backup processor and she was quite happy. Thank god in real life, I have a woman that I can trust. With Ivy I am always on edge.

My game play in Fallout 4 has completely changed due to Ivy. Before, I used to have Piper as standard companion. I would then join the Brotherhood of Steel. I can not do this with Ivy since she so blatantly obvious displays her cyborg nature. She said it to me herself that she feared for her existence if I joined. I did not go with Valentine to search for my son since I suspect that upon finishing the mission at Fort Hagen, we would have the Prydwin arrive and with it the air force and army of the Brotherhood of Steel. This would render my Militiamen forces useless since they can not defend themselves against air/helicopter attacks.

With Ivy I feel rather exposed as if I had hooked up with a well known terrorist in real life. As a cyborg she is a permanent target and I wonder how long it will take for the good folk of Diamond City to get upset about her presence. On top of this comes her dark legacy as an extremely ruthless and cruel leader of a gang of raiders. She is quite a dame and I suspect that many doors will remain closed to me as long as I am her partner. I just cleared out the Mechanist's Lair and I decided to turn it into a stronghold. The main problem are the doors. Ada opened them for me with her Mid Sat beacon but she obviously can not close them. I wonder whether a reader in this forum has an idea. Ivy has a special attachment to some places like Home Plate or Sunshine Tidings Co-Op. Is this a blast from the past?

Of course, the militia forces can easily defend themselves against the "air forces" of the Brotherhood - the simple missile towers from the construction menu are sufficient for this.

In addition, with a simple portable rocket launcher you can get these "metal birds" out of the sky ... you can observe this well at the satellite station occupied by Supper mutants ... they easily beat back the attacks of the Brotherhood.

Also the airship which is "anchored" in the airport - can be attacked without any problems from a settlement (north of the airport) -> the mortars (which you get after "unlocking" the castle) reach there.

If you expand your settlements accordingly BEFORE the Brotherhood appears - these steel Nazis are no problem for a democratic force!

Ada hat sie mit ihrem Mid-Sat-Bake für mich geöffnet, aber sie kann sie offensichtlich nicht schließen. Ich frage mich, ob ein Leser in diesem Forum eine Idee hat. Ivy hat eine besondere Bindung zu einigen Orten wie Home Plate oder Sunshine Tidings Co-Op. Ist das eine Explosion aus der Vergangenheit?

After you are open-minded? According to my knowledge, that is not possible - unfortunately.

The whole number with this "hideout" as a settlement is in no way thought out by the "manufacturer" - neither in terms of defence nor in terms of -> water source.

in the end you can only fake something

If you are really interested in an underground hideout and don't want to do the whole tour with Vault 88...

I am flattened by what Ivy knows about porn magazines. Whoever introduced this feature into Ivy's life did a stellar job. What I learn about this subject is amazing. I just got hold of a copy of "Ring up for Love". As soon as I had paid for it she educated me on phone sex. It was a joy listening to her lovely voice. Every copy of a porn magazine comes with a refreshing story. I like it very much. Ivy is a real gem.

I have noticed that Ivy is plagued by hallucinations. She imagines hearing things and to see things. I hope this does not get worse. Otherwise she is a very valuable companion. She has a very good carrying capacity and her fighting power is huge. Communication with her is a little bit repetitive at times but nice.

Is Ivy a secret drug taker? "I just overheard her saying to herself "Never take Jet and go into dusty places". I wonder.

I have grown fond of Ivy. What irritates me though is that from time to time her human voice fails and I hear her machine voice. She is clearly a robot in many respects.

I wonder. Preston has been caught twice to claim Ivy. Behind my back which makes it worse. I would like to blow his head off. Just to uphold the rule of law. After all he has now violated the 10 commandments twice now. I wish this was possible in this game. Is there a mod for this purpose?

I just saw that Ivy wears white knickers. Completely wet at the right spot. Nice detail.

Ivy and I went back to Super Duper Mart for looting. There I found a moving note of one of Debbie's raiders. He obviously died there. He recorded how his gang went looking for her. How he finally found her, cut up, organs taken out. He mentions seeing a mad scientist and a bald man with a long scar in his face at the hospital where they took her. Ivy was shattered when she learnt these details about her past. She needs to think about it all.
