Suggest me an adult game/mod to my taste?

So, I'm trying posting here out of desperation honestly, and it might not be the best place but I'm not part of many other communities that discuss adult stuff much. My hopes aren't high, given that LL is rather kinky in it's tastes, but who knows who might stumble over this by accident...

I'm just coming from a huge testing run from itch.io basically downloading all weekend trying to find that one odd erotic game I actually like, and given the amount of stuff there one should think it'd be a treasure trove, but the opposite is true, I find almost nothing. Most games are like wait for download - play 3 minutes - delete.

Short rant:
One huge problem I have is that I'm NOT into Anime/Hentai. I can absolutely live with cartoonish art styles, but the more anime it gets, the less appealing.
Other than that, my personal tastes seem to be directly opposed to everything "mainstream", my main kink is that I have no kinks - I'm not into huuuuge watermelon boobs, I'm not into furries, not into BDSM or any other fetishes that seem to make up a majority of games and mods. Lastly, go away with RPG-Maker pixel art.

Then there's that huuuge amount of 3D-rendered DAZ visual novels... yeah, I guess I *could* enjoy one with a really good story, but actually being photorealistic isn't that high on the priority list, and story-wise they seem to be all the same, protagonist is a "bad boy" with troubled/criminal past going on a family visit to his barely legal cousins with the hot MILF stepmom, all based on the same DAZ assets, and even through the text you can hear the Russian accent of the author. I was able to stomach 2 of the for a while, one only because of a female protagonist, the other because the story was so weird that I had to see where it goes even though nothing was to my taste.

Lastly, there's sex simulators, not what I'm looking for either, this isn't for a quick fap in front of the PC but for fantasy and escapism.

Anyway, there are very few examples of games I actually enjoyed or that surprised me positively:
 

 

The first is probably my favourite adult game/mod ever, that's the "A Dance with Rogues" mod for Neverwinter Nights.

Brilliant writing, long engaging storyline, female protagonist written by a female, the whole erotica happening in dialogue with almost no visual sex. Yet, that's the one everything has to compete with.

Next we have "Amorous Adventures" for Skyrim - with all the adult modding happening in probably the most modded game of all time, this is the only really long, storydriven adult mod with an actually engaging (and actually often hilarious) storyline that manged to make me replay the whole game again.

It's not without faults, it's most fun again when played as a female character where the protagonist's attitude towards their prey is much more funny than stereotypical alpha male-ish with a male char, but anyway... the closest I got to my needs in any Beth game. Unfortunately the plus version seems to be abandoned now and the original one is very buggy... shame that the few great projects never make it over the finish line.

Lastly, but a looong way from the other two examples, here's just one of the few itch.io games I actually had some fun with, "Once A Porn A Time" as an example for something actually achievable compared to the other two:

This isn't perfect and has aspects I don't like, but I kept playing it mainly for it's humor and fun characters. It has a cartoony art style I actually enjoy and doesn't go over the top with anything. If I'd just find more games like this I'd already be happy.


Ok, if you survived this looong rant I'd really appreciate some more suggestions *if* you think you get where I'm coming and what I'm looking for.

- story-driven
- not Hentai
- nice art style, whether realistic or cartoonish
- no "sex simulator"
- no watermelons
- no or rare BDSM

- female protagonist is a plus but not needed

- male asshole type who treats girls like shit (r*pe-stuff) absolutely not prefered.

- can be a a mod for the usual suspects of LL (Beth games and Sims 4)

So I have a tendency of writing way too much to get my points across, but if you're the one feeling somewhat similar and think you know just the game for me, I really welcome your suggestion! ❤️

Gah! How am I supposed to find this when it's not in the Nexus? On LL I only expect to find storymods so kinky that it's too much for the Nexus (and therefore, me) and got blocked ?

Seriously, this looks really good, I'll give it a try as soon as I have the energy to play Skyrim again and update those thousands of mods (probably very soon when my new graphics card arrives).

Nexus? This is not too much for Nexus, I choose not to post on Nexus at all. So you're asking Loverslab to find you mods/games to play that you can get from nexus? Am I reading this right? Good luck to you.

Look, I was just trying to make a lighthearted/nice comment... no, you're reading it exactly the opposite way. I can find stuff on the Nexus myself and just surprised that a storymod for Skyrim wasn't uploaded there. Which is the only reason I wasn't aware of your mod earlier, since it's exactly what I'm usually looking for. And proof that making this thread wasn't all in vain as it seems.

Edit: But actually, please do suggest stuff on the Nexus too - if it was just Skyrim mods I'm looking for I'd probably be aware of everything, but I'm not checking every last game I own on a regular basis. It's hard to keep track of all Beth games, CP2077, Sims and whatever else mods all at once.

So, you're basically looking for something story driven, vanilla-ish (but then you mention A Dance with Rogues? I'm confuzzled) with no harem\incest\corruption\extreme fetishes? I can certainly relate to that, but honestly, you're not going to find much if you don't at least lower your expectation in the art department. Custom art costs money, and in this time and age vanilla adult games are not really the best moneymakers out there...

 

 Have you tried Leap of Faith from itch.io? Yes, it's made of Daz assets, but it's not a harem game, it's got some very decent\sensible characters and has a rather... impactful story (assuming you're going to romance the girl that almost everyone ends up romancing; I'm sure you'll figure it out ).

 

Sierra Lee is another great author, has a few completed games under the belt, but she mostly works with the RPGmaker engine. If you don't mind that, I'd definitely recommend to give The Last Sovereign a try. Brilliantly written, humorous, and while sex is a core part of its fantasy world it's not invasive. Notice that this is a really long game, with 100+ hours of playtime, combat (it gets quite hard in the later chapters) and it delves A LOT into politics, economics and management. It's certainly not for everyone, but for me it's one of the best RPGs I've ever played.

 

Lastly, perhaps you'd like Evakiss games. They're a bit short, the way she handles story branching would put Bioware and many RPG writers to shame.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean with vanilla-ish in this context. Standing out, being unique? Or in terms of sexual content, because ADWR hs certainly some kinky stuff? Really not sure... as for my art expectations, I don't think they're that high, but yes, I'm at least looking for something that can stand on it's own feet in terms of style, but the style itself can be anything, it just has to click with me. That doesn't mean high production value - just not looking exactly like the 99 other games in the same list. That can be 3D renders, just with a different atmosphere or making the asset characters look a little different in terms of style/clothing/whatever, nothing that can't be done. As I said, I really liked the art style of that Once a Porn game, that was the main reason I kept playing yet it's nothing you'd need a game studio for, and it stood out between the hentai games.
I'm certainly not looking for high production value, just some basic effort and creativity.

Besides that, thanks for the suggestions! I certainly ran across the Leap of Faith game, not sure if I downloaded it yet or not, but if you recommend checking it out I will give it a go.

RPG maker games really aren't my thing, but I'll have another look at your suggestions there too, as well as Evakiss. With that huuuge amount of games there it's certainly already a big step when one person says "give that one a go". Thanks!

 

Edit: Ah, I already must've tried Leap of Faith a while ago, but stopped shortly after the beginning... maybe the style wasn't my thing, based on the screenshots I guess I wouldn't have downloaded it again this time. But I'll give it another try.

Anyways, glad to be of help. If you do end up trying The Last Sovereign, and maybe find that the prologue is way too boring and cliche for your taste... well, just make sure to finish the prologue before judging.

Aah yes... no, the difference in ADWR is that it's 1. highly story driven and 2. I experience it from a female perspective. I don't mind dark, gritty content at all, it's a matter of context. Romance isn't top of my list either, casual sex in weird situations/settings is perfectly fine.
What I don't have nor enjoy is male power fantasies towards women, I don't like being put into a role that actively subdues women (esp. violently), even if the game tells me it's consensual. If I play from a women's perspective that's different, probably why I mostly prefer playing female characters - as a male I already draw the line at rough BJs (yeah, no way not to get those, but I endure them only in hopes to get other sex scenes), while as a female char I'm more thinking about getting through rough situations, having to brave a gritty world, one day getting my revenge... or, at least, can read her thoughts and make sure she actually enjoys it.

That site has a great search function with lots of tags to include or exclude, as well. There should be tons of games on there for you, though not liking 3D will probably hurt more than not liking anime. A lot of real porn, if you're okay with that, but also lots with nice original art.

If you are lazy, I guess you could go by Degrees of Lewdity and simply turn every fetish (practically everything) off...

I kinda did just that at the start, before I got bitten by "do goals for tokens"-bug and turned pretty much everything on little by little.
