Using custom costumes in story mode cutscenes

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have been away from doa5lr for years now and just got back in.

I remember a functionality where you can press a certain combination of key on the versus screen to save a costume and then when you played the cutscene movie the character would be wearing that outfit rather than thier default one in that cutscene.

Is that functionality still there in the latest BP? Is so how to use it?

With CTRL + 0, you can save detail selections in the character select menu and make them default, meaning when you launch the game, those details you saved will show up straight away. This is useful to make mods show up in Story Mode or Movies.

I did nude selections for 2 characters, CTRL + 0, heard the beep, but they were still in the regular outfits in the cutscenes.

我为两个角色进行了裸装选择,按下 CTRL + 0,听到蜂鸣声,但他们在过场动画中仍然穿着普通服装。

same here, autolink never works in story mode even with ctrl+0

Yes, AutoLink does work.

You got to place the mod in the same slot of the story costume. Ayane for example, should be in folder 01.

Go to versus, arcade or any other fight mode and select the modded costume, then play story mode.

This is how I took the screenshot below:

It will work in story mode, but not in pre-rendered cutscenes, because these are movie files.

You can check these pre-rendered cutscenes in your game folder at:

Yes, it does work in Story Mode.

But I've found that CTRL-0 sometimes doesn't work when your controller is attached.

So you can try:

  1. Disconnect your controller and launch DOA5LR
  2. Using WASD for directions and IJLM for buttons ("M" is A button, "L" is B button), set your desired AutoLink costumes
  3. Save your prefrences with CTRL-0
  4. Exit the game
  5. Connect your controller again and launch DOA5LR
  6. Enjoy Story Mode in full glory!

Hi, just found this old post. Autolink works in changing 99% outfits in cutscenes. But still one or two outfits still remain default even in real-time cutscene.

For example, Mila's trainer outfit, and the suit of the black guy are still the same. It is super weird. I'm using DOAHDM Gravure Studio, don't know if it is related. I've tried changing mod.config and autolink, still not working.
