Todd420 Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 It's not my thing but does anyone? Might tick off Beth though.. Think about the possibilities using HDT full character physics.. hair, everything with no memory barrier.
Guest Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I wish they would've made one themselves but I doubt it will ever happen.
Rayblue Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Could have, should have, would have. Big effin deal that Beth should've also made a 64-bit version but they had to lasso in the console crowd. So we're stuck with 32-bit Skyrim.

Didn't even work with "Fix the goddamn facial animations assholes" so I doubt this will have a different outcome.

Well, it's more complex than that: - The game is playable as is, and modding is not officially supported ("we give you the tools to make mods, but we will not debug any of them"). So yeah you can add 4096 textures and complex scripts that make the game bloat because of 32bits limitations, but that's not how the game engine was intended to be used by Bethesda. - Compiling an executable in 64 bits is not that easy (when it's not intended from the beginning), seeing how many dependencies a game like Skyrim can have, and Bethesda doesn't want to spend time debugging unexpected behaviors... So no, no 64 bits for Skyrim (and in fact any current game is in that situation)... maybe we'll see native 64 bits games with the new PS4/Xbox hardware.
