i'm having some rather... frustrating difficulties

i'm having issues with my laptop, and I've come to a decision that I'm either infected with Spyware, or my defragmentation is.. whatever it is.

I just don't gey it, I keep having this error.. in the image I uploaded, of course.

It does this error with a number of games. I can only assume due to Spyware, or fragmented files. The problem with it though, is it will take three days for my files to defragment (Defraggler), and all my spyware tools take around 5-12 hours. I have patience but not when I"m trying to get to the bottom of what's going on. I mean, I can handle 2-3 hours but three god damn days?

How do I fix this? I just.. need to know what to do. If I could be advised it would be great.. That's all.

Try to run the program as administrator.

Reboot your system if you didn't do it.

Run the "event viewer" program (my Windows is localized and I don't know the english name)

Start menu --> type "event" in the search box, or just run C:\Windows\system32\eventvwr.msc

In the left panel, windows registry (maybe?) \ application, look for your error in the list, maybe you'll find some hint there.

It seems to me that the installer is having some trouble to run some file. Did you download those files with the same windows username as you are using now? Are you using some weird shortcut, virtual device or something? Try to move that entire folder to C:\ and try again.

If you already are running it as an administrator then there's no easy fix for it. You could of course also try disabling UAC, might help.

The easiest, and most expensive way, to solve the problem is to back up any vital files, take an axe to your hard drive(s), buy (a) new one(s), maybe some new RAM memory too while you're at it, re-install windows, and make sure not to clutter them with so much stuff that it takes three days/12 hours to do such maintenance :P.

Or, you just let it take its time and do the virus scan and defrag, regardless of how long it takes. Maybe delete some of the (porn)-videos that you have, to clean up some space and speed up the process, like I did ;).

It was due to a virus, and some adware. I did a whole systems wipe, and I'm getting programs back now. I thought I could get rid of it manually but it was to no avail. It was an obfuscating virus. No way, in any shape, or form could AVG, Malwarebytes, or anything find it. It took a specialised program to even detect it. It's not really that bad. I memorised most of my programs, and know how to get them back. Shame it had to be so extreme.
