Arucardo78 Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Maybe a stupid question, but I just downloaded the newest version of WW, cause I just noticed there was a newer version. Anyway.. wondering if I just overwrite the old files or is there some specific way I should update?
Husk Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Overwriting should be fine too, but it's best to just remove the old files and put the new ones in their place, to avoid possible issues with duplicate mods. At least that's how I do it.
Arucardo78 Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 Thanks, wasn't sure as I just started modding ts4 with the previous version, so kinda a modding virgin.
GreyMouse Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 And make sure to always delete the localthumbcache.package file from the Sims 4 folder whenever you add or delete anything in your Sims folders. ?

Assuming that is a thumbnail cache for things in cas and/or build mode?

The localthumbcache is important since it store information from the game and, more importantly mods and CC. It’s purpose is the same as any other cache; to be a section of memory in which a program can store information and data so that it can access it quickly. If you’ve deleted a mod from your game and not deleted your localthumbcache, bits of information from the mod are still in your game and can continue causing trouble. So yes, you should always delete it when you change something in your mods folder.
