Guest Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I'm not sure what it is, but after I load up my Fallout 3, the game crashes like 10 seconds every time. Ill post my load order in case that has to do with the problem. pantherlux Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 would be helpful if we knew the system you use, like windows, graphics card etc. a long way to check, what is the reason for the crashing: turn off the mods, one by one and start the game again and again i guess the listed mods are the active ones? have you checked if there are some mods that require other mods to run that you dont have? (like example only: gardengnome army.esp requires gardengnome kingdom.esm or something) another possible thing: if you use win 7 or vista, heres what helped me out: locate your fallout.ini in your "my games" file in "my documents" (my documents\my games\fallout3) copy the fallout.ini to your desktop (as a backup) make sure the original one is not write protected because you'll add some lines to it open the ini file and press strg+f search for "bUseThreadedAI" if the value =0 change it to bUseThreadedAI=1 after this go to "iNumHWThreads" and set the value to 2, so your game will be forced to use 2 cores (if the game still crashes, try to use 1 instead of 2) save the ini file, rename your backupfile like "falloutBKPdate" or so and place it somewhere you can find it, if you ever need to make any settings and screw up it will come in handy now let's hope it will work

I am almost positive that it is the mods now though, because the game runs quite well without mods. I am running windows 7 professional and my graphics card is the AMD 7870 hd or something. 16 GB of RAM.
RitualClarity Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 You have a merged patch I noticed. So you shouldn't have any load order issues. Try lowering the settings on the graphics to something lower. See if that helps the response and time running before the crashes. Best way to see if some basic settings might be out of wack. If it does help then you can focus on graphic fixes. Driver updates. etc. If it doesn't then you need to start removing one mod at a time until you find the one that is making the game unstable.
