Hi Teddy,

 

When I use this mod during matches (on Steam), I see a dark rectangular shadow in the upper left and triangular shadow in the upper right.  This is only mod where it occurs, and if I disable this mod, the problem goes away.  I'm running with the latest reshade version (6.0.1) in case that matters. 

 

P.S.  Sorry for blurry shot - I took this photo during the match end where the camera is blurred.

F10 wasn't showing any errors.  However, my d3dx.ini appeared to be a significantly older version (6-20-2022 date).  I updated that and it appears to have fixed the problem.  Thanks!

The mods default to the default state every time you reboot the game. There is 2 ways to change this. The easiest way is to press F10 to save the current state. The other way, which is harder but allows for updating the mod, is to go into the ini for the mod and update the "global persist" lines to the number for the change you want. I use the latter personally, because I like to fiddle with the mods, and this lets me go back to the state I want everytime if I have to reset the main mod back to "square one"

Ah, good to know but what do you mean by the second solution?

I mean, if I understand that right I could still use the F10 version and set my desired setup while saving it that way. If I want another setup I can change that and save it again with F10. So I could also fiddle with the mods and need to save it every time. Am I right with that idea or do I get something wrong?

 

And I was also wondering about this because part of my used mods happen to stay the way I edit them even after restarting the game. So I'm wondering why some mods do and others not.

It's if you have to wipe 3dfix completely. When you do that you reset everything back to the "global persist" of all ini files. If something bugs out really bad, sometimes it's not a bad idea to uninstall 3dfix as a solution. Doing that erases all your F10 saves, however, so you have to change all your mods again. I have over 1200 mods, so I learned it's far faster just to edit the mod.ini file to the setting I like, just incase I have to uninstall 3dfix or even DOAXVV itself.

Ok I see, thats reasonable. I keep that in mind, till now I haven't larger problems with those mods I'm using or 3dfix so far (touch the wood) but if so I will look forward to that solution.

 

And just to make that clear, editing the ini before having such major problem while work that way -> if you need to reinstall DOAXVV/3dfix you just put those edited ini files back in and those mods are right back in there desired setting as they where before the reinstall with no further adjustment, is that correct?

Yeah. Creating a back up of your costumes, skins and other such mods in a different folder (or even drive), is also a good idea in case of a full wipe needed.
