Trying to figure out what the source of this issue is

So I've been trying to add two specific mods to my playthrough; but not having any luck, These being Lucien and Sanguine Debauchery +. If I enable the esps in an outdoor space, I get an infinite black screen with music. Indoors, they install fine, and then cause a persistent crash on going outside. I'm not yet at the hard esp+esm limit (217 currently), but i thought i might be hitting some sort of "soft" limit," except i tried adding other mods to my playthrough and they start up just fine. Although I know it's not perfect, I did run LOOT after adding them to my LO. Anyone ever encounter anything similar?

Did you try only Lucien on a fresh save. I am pretty sure it would be easier to find an unique culprit. I am pretty sure Lucien Flavius is safe.

Yeah I tried both of them just adding one at a time, and got the same result. I'm utterly baffled, tried cleaning my save and it came up with 2 orphaned scripts, and no change to the results. Lucien is one of the most popular followers around, I can't understand what would cause such a huge issue. Maybe I'll try him on a new game, see if that fixes it; but i'm kinda into the playthrough i've got going on.
