How to create my own custom voiced/unvoiced dialogues ?

Recommended Posts

In the Creation Kit:

1. Make a new quest.

2. Go to the "Player dialogue" tab and make a new Branch.

3. Select the branch and make a new topic and fill it with words. A topic always contains one back and forth, a player line and one or more npc response.

4. Add a  condition to the first topic for the npc that the dialogue is for. (Add none to make it available for all npc)

5. Make as much topics as you need. Add the connection to the following topic on the left side under "links to".

I recommend you look up some YT tutorials or the creation kit wiki as well, they are a bit more comprehensive and have pictures.

You don't have to do anything other than installing Fuz-Roh-Doh for invoiced dialogue to work.

srsl...

maybe more info in ur post?... single topic is not much...

1) You need Creation Kit ( and TEdit is recommended )

2) Load ur Mod or create new ( and load at least Skyrim.esp )

3) find Character Tab ( on left Menu ( ObjectWindow ) ) and then "Quest" Tab

 - if u can't see Object Window just look at "View" on top Menu ( there will be "ObjectWindow" option )

4) Right click on ObjectWindow Objects in Quest and select "New"

5) make ur quest:

Quest ID: its jsut ID for ur Quest for Game and Creation Kit, it can be something like "MyDialogue" but i recomend u using Tags so for example "QLG_Quest_Dialogue_Test"

Quest Name: You can leave it empty unless u want Dialogue for some Quest, its name that will be visible in game if u show quest

Type: Miscellaneous ( unless u want to make Quest - but for simple dialogue Misc is fine )

Priority: its "what should be shown first" Quest with higher priority will overwrite other quests

in Quest Dialogue Conditions u should check who can talk and when You can do it in Quest Main tab or just for single dialogue

If u want only one NPC to talk dialogue line Right click on Conditions and select "new" condition should be set by default to "GetItsID"

click "Select" button and select NPC You want to talk your dialogues, if u left it empty then everyone in game can talk ur dialogue line

if u want only Guards or etc. to talk ur dialogues u can select Faction etc.

6) Click "OK" - so more Options can show

7) open ur Quest Again ( now u will have more options to choice )

8) go to Dialogue and create new Dialogue View, you can create as many of them u want

9) on right "empty" box u can click right mouse too ( make sure ur Dialogue View is selected - is blue or something - just click it )

 - if You Right click but nothing show just click "OK" and re-open ur Quest

10) after Right click on huge box u should see option to "Create Branch" make it and give it name

11) after u give name to ur Branch CK will ask you for Name for first Topic give any name u want

12) Double click Your topic and u will see Dialogue edit window

13) in "Topic Text" type what Player is saying to NPC to start Dialogue ( You can use AiPackages to make NPC talk to Player )

14) in "info" u can Right click and select "new" this will be NPC response

15) Response Text is what NPC say to Player after selecting dialogue

16) if u have Mic connected to ur PC u can use "Record" button to record ur voice for this dialogue

 - You should also generate lip file ( so npc move lips when talk ) - but its not required

 - Yes you can also just select Voice file to play instead of recording it

17) setup everything like for example expressions animations etc. and click OK

 - You can add more responses than one ( just click right mouse on "info" and select "new" again )

 - Responses are playing from top to bottom

 - Once You click "OK" You can select things like "Scripts" "Conditions" and other things like for example "Good Bye" check box

if Good Bye is slelected NPC will end conversation with player after talking this dialogue line

You can create more Topic in ur Dialogue Branch

You can connect Topics with Lines ( just move ur mouse over Topic till u see "hand" mouse then grab it and move arrow over other topic )

- Yes You can make loops ( but u should not make infinite loops - may cause CTD )

i already tested it... infinite Perks and infinite dialogues are illegal... cause CTD or game Freeze ( because game is trying to find "last dialogue / last Perk" )

18) Make all dialogues u want

19) Save Your Mod

20) run TEdit ( You need to generate SEQ file )

You can generate SEQ file with TEdit or with Steam...

but with Steam it depends on luck... it will sometimes generate SEQ for You... sometimes dont...

TEdit way is much better and always works...

without SEQ file Dialogues may not show in game... ( maybe will show after few hours of gameplay with Mod enabled )

Ofc. there is much more... but if u want to know answer on specific question u should ask this question...

because there is a lot to know about Quests in Trashrim....

so if u don't ask specific question no1 gonna give u real answer...
