Stuttering Issues...

So i decide to rev up some good old Oblivion, and much to my great annoyance, I got some stuttering. Mind you it's not super dooper severe, it pretty much runs in a ' play smooth for 5 seconds than pause for a half second ' type of stutter. Just really annoying, and it does it all the time no matter if i'm outdoor/indoor or in combat or not.

 

Initially, i think it has SOMETHING to do with a shit load of scripts being run due to Lovers and all that jazz, just that it doesn't make sense as i've had lovers mods running flawlessly before.

 ( And yeah i know some of this stuff should be Wyre Bash'd but I can't for the life of me figure that shit out.)

 

I've already deactivated a lot of the script heavy stuff like tamago and the basic personal hygiene and basic primary needs mods in an effort to isolate whatever is causing it.

 

PC Specs Here:

AMD Athlon II X2 220 Processor 2.80 hz

4 GB RAM

64 bit OS

Nvidia Geforce GT 640

 

 

  Hopefully that's enough info.

( Could probably use more RAM in the hardware department, better processor too. )

 

 

If all else fails I guess I could have a sit down one day and play the Re-Install Oblivion game. at least i'll know which mods i absolutely positively have to have this time.

From what I noticed most of the beauty mods can slow down game a lot.

When I had Xeo race mod game was running about 25-30% slower and stuttering around (On GTX 560 Ti OC )

So I would start with them.

Also do you play on Laptop ? Since GF 640 is not really for games with tons of mods.

No i'm playing on a Desktop

 

 I'll try disabling some race mods maybe.. Hopefully one of those maybe the culprit.

 

UPDATE: Alright so i disabled a lot of the superfluous race mods ( something i should have done anyways ), none of those seemed to fix it. 

Also i'd like to note the x117 and MBP i had on there were the blank ESP/ESM variant for use with tamago and other reconfigured mods to make the game 100% less anime.

Anyways i keep my OBGE on pretty minimal settings. I only use Godrays, vignette and color grading shaders + Liquid Water.

( I've also disabled all OBGE things as well to no avail )

 

And i've had it running smoothly on these setting before...

 

I'm going to try playing a different resolution maybe, just in case it might be graphical.

 

 

UPDATE:

 

Tried playing at various resolutions, sill the same stutter... I don't think it's anything to do with graphics, which brings me back to square one of my hypothesis:

 

It's probably over 9000 scripts running in the back ground somehow or some kind of memory/RAM/Processor thing.

 

 If it's the latter than well i can't do much about that until I score some dosh for new hardware.

Yeah i've looked at those too, using streamline right now and it doesn't work at all.

 

I'll give this one a go.

 

 

Also as a bit of a note, i started up Oblivion and loaded up a game, then started up the task manager and has a look at the resource usage.

 

The game only used  8 to 15% of my CPU as it was running, and you can guess the 15 was during it's little stutter spikes. It was also only used 2.37GB of my RAM out of 4Gb.

 

 Thing is my oblivion ini file is pretty much tweaked to fit my PC nicely, and even that doesn't seem to help. 

 

I'm gonna give this a shot and if this fail i'll just whip out the old GOTY CD and do a good old fashioned re install.

Well OSR didn't work as expected.

 

Time to go to Re-Install City, USA.

 

Don't really mind it to much, just the whole ordeal takes time, although i'll be glad to be on a clean slate and can specifically find what mod i actually want to keep things to a minimum.

Well keep in mind that Oblivion was designed for 2GB of ram MAX you can use 4GB pach but still it works kinda funky.
