Origamiboy Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 so i started editing hair in milkshape, left he vertice amounts the same, and assigned the material to it and it looks fine, but when i open nifscope the textures are all garbled and at different angles. did i forget something? i mean the model edits work good in skyrim i just cant get the textures to align how they look in milkshape
Monsto Brukes Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 If you moved the verts around, then the texturing got moved around with it. the UVW mapping wasn't changed. So if you had this (the numbers are verts) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 the UV(W) map is nailed to those verts. if you then move the verts around to 2 9 5 6 3 7 4 8 1 and the UV(W) map is still trying to make sense of the coords between vert 1 and 2, you wind up with a fucked up texture. You either need to recreate the UV Map or you need to not move verts too far.
Origamiboy Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 ok but why does the texture look fine in milkshape but when i export it its fucke dup in nifscope
Monsto Brukes Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 milkshape is probably keeping coords intact internally, but then you export without a new UV. Never used milkshape, but there might be a chkbox in there somewhere "Keep UV" or the like. If so, toggle that and see what happens.
