I haven't gone through all the comments on this yest so please forgive me if what I'm about to say has already been said.
I'm sure it would be an absolutely huge file but i honestly wish there was a zip/rar that just had all the videos for this, I'd rather do one big download over a bunch of smaller ones.

Hey man just use middle mouse button on download buttons and it will auto download without leaving the main page. best thing you could do for LL

yes. you need to remove and re-install the mod part.

but you can keep the video files (the ones that are named "TVxxxxxxxx.package"), don't need to download those again.

your CinErotique install should look like this if done right:

with the latest update - is there a way to watch the channels without using whicked whim?

wicked whims is NOT REQUIRED for the mod to work.

How can I make my own custom videos for your mod and assign them to proper TV channels?

There's a good tutorial made by Simser der Deutschen: https://modthesims.info/t/533897

It's pretty old, but not much has changed since, apart from i would recommend bumping up the resolution from 288x144 to either 512x288 or 768x432.

Due to a high chance of compatibility issues, instead of assigning them to my channels, I would recommend making your own. There's a template TV channel you can use as a starting point made by AirplaneRandy long time ago, but that still should work.

Hello. I recently updated the mod from an older version (can't recall the date) that had only one channel to the latest version and noticed a huge shift in not only how much sims watch tv, but 99% of the time it is the Cinerotique channels. While this occurs, the changing of channels is also quite frequent.
Plus... now not that there's anything wrong with that, lol, but would it be possible to have the ability to hide certain channels, as well? I understand there's a feature to assign a trait for allowing sims to not watch certain channels, but if there's a lot of sims spending time in the same lot, you can imagine how clunky and frustrating that situation would be.

I don't comment much around here so you can imagine how much it means to me to go out of my way to mention these issues as I would rather like to keep this mod installed and not have it removed as I do now as it became too game-breaking.

Many thanks!

@OldWorldMaster Hi. Thanks for the feedback.

Looks like I might have "over-baited" the porn channels, and the sims are biting. :)

I'm dialing back the global "porn channel watching" desirability and will post an update later today (there's also a tiny UI bug in 6.0.2 I also have to fix anyways)

(Still running autonomy tests with the new tunings. So far they are chosen about 45% of the time compared with base game channels, so it's looking good.)

There's one thing you have to take to account though. You said, in your previous install there was only one CE channel, that means there was a roughly 1/10 probability (that's for base game, it's even lower with expansion pack channels/movies on) for the sim to choose the channel. Now that there's 7 channels in the new version, those odds are 7/16, so naturally the porn viewing frequency will go up whatever I do (apart from tanking their desirability artificially, but making sims not to watch them would kinda defeat the whole purpose of the mod. :))

That's already an option for that. If you go to your CinErotique/Extras folder, you'll find a Disable Individual Channels.7z archive. There are individual channel disablers in it. Just extract the one(s) corresponding to the channel(s) you want to disable. For example, if you want to disable the RAW channel, then unpack the corresponding PECO_ADDITIONAL_MOD_disable_raw_channel.package from the archive. - The disabling effects are global though, so it will turn off the channel on every TV.

@peco328 I followed the tutorial and actually made it. An animation video of "dancing" Ankha that is properly plays on Smash TV channel.

But it uses instance ID "CE0A041010328001" and totally will conflict with your future videos for this channel.

And modifying channel playlist in my package file not a good idea since it may become obsolete with future mod updates.

So yeah, like you said. making own TV chanel is best way to do this.

Yeah, especially that if everybody just starts adding stuff to my playlist that would make support a nightmare, as I would have no idea what extra content a user might have, and did said content had been properly tested for the "looping crash video bug" or not (in your particular case, i tried it out, your video loops properly without crashing, but there are plenty of examples from out there for untested videos that indeed crash the game)

V6.0.3 UPDATES + BUGFIXES (2022-JAN-30):

  • Fixed a major issue introduced in 6.0.2 with watch autonomy, that was enabling non-played sims to frequently change the channel while others were watching. As a result of this fix, you will see a very noticeable drop in autonomous p0rn watching, but that's normal.
  • Fixed a small UI issue, where the CinErotique channel was disappearing from the pie menu when something else was on the TV.
  • Added new channel: "Shuffle Mode", it randomly plays videos from all other channels.
  • Added Brazilian/Portuguese translation (by PHP13)

Affected by this update: core mod files in the !CinErotique_Installer_[v6.0.3].7z installer.
The video package files were not affected by this update.

✅PATCH COMPATIBILITY INFO (2022-JAN-30):

  • The core CINEROTIQUE TV mod is tested, and is compatible with game version 1.83.24.1030

Hey, love the mod, it really adds a whole 'nother level to immersion. Quick question though. Is it possible to reduce the rate at which sims watch the channels? They only seem to watch the CinErotique channel (which I wouldn't normally have a issue with), but it adds a large Flirty mood buff which puts my sims in a near constant state of Flirty or Very Flirty. It's a bit of a problem when it's the only thing they watch, and pretty frequently too.

No big deal if there's nothing to be done about it though, it's really just nitpicking an already great mod. Keep up the great work!

did you update to the latest version? please check the timestamp on the mod files. latest one is 2022-01-30  06:03

v6.0.2 had an issue with too high watch desirability, but i dialed it way down in v6.0.3 - in my final test the global watch rate for all CE channels combined vs ingame channels+movies were about 35%-65%, respectively.

for reference, here are what buff multipliers are used:

no, you can't add your own custom videos (mp4,avi, etc.). you can only pick from the ones i provide on the mod's download section.

Hello, my channels do not show up in the game at all despite doing everything you said to do. As soon as I buy the channels for the temporary access nothing shows up it's just making me watch the original channels that come with the game. I tried getting the TV Upgrade for it as well. and nothing shows up. I have googled this so many times, and I have found nobody with my issue.

All I can do really is give you a check list to go through:

  1. Make sure your game is updated - I always use the latest version to develop, I can't guarantee that the mod works if your game is hopelessly outdated for khmm "reasons".
  2. Make sure you've enabled both "Content and Mods" and "Script Mods" in the Game Options/Other settings.
  3. The PECO_MOD_CinErotique.ts4script file can not be more then one folder deep within your Mods folder.
  4. Try different TV's. While the mod is tested for the standard TVs, custom 3rd party TVs might have some issues if they use their own tuning files.
  5. Make sure that you didn't just unpack ALL files from the included Extras/Disable Individual Channels.7z archive. If you did so, then delete all 8 PECO_ADDITIONAL_MOD_disable_XXXXX_channel.package files from your Mods folder.
Those are meant to be used to disable channels individually. If you just unpack all 8 files from it it will disable ALL the channels.

Pay close attention especially to the last point (5), as based on what you've said - that you are able to buy the channels on the TV, but they disappear afterwards - I'm 99% sure that's what causing your problem.
