vashar Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I've recently started having errors when using the nif file import plugin. I assume it's a problem with the file, since I've tested importing on other nifs and it worked fine. This is the file I've been having problems with, and this is the error log I get from the console: I've edited the file before in Blender, which may be the source of the problem- However, I don't think I did anything differently than normal.
movomo Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 For some reason this shows up in NifSkope normally but Blender cannot seem to import it. This is the second time that I see unimportable oblivion mesh. The first thing was UFF DC maid costume and it worked (relatively) fine in game. I think this will work in game too. Solution: PyFFIying it solved the problem. I don't know what's the cause, though. Just PyFFI it and you'll be happy.
movomo Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Er.. How do I do that? ^^; Unless your blender is a portable version, you probably have already PyFFI installed. If not download 2.1.11 here http://sourceforge.net/projects/pyffi/files/pyffi/ 2.1.x builds are compatible with python 2.6.x builds. otherwite 2.2.x builds are compatible with python 3.x builds. After installing it, right click the mesh and click "Optimize with PyFFI" then hit y, enter. you're done. Further information here: http://tescosi.com/wiki/Python_File_Format_Interface
vashar Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 Oh, I already had it. And it worked! Thank you
delilah Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 i had this issue too. right-clicking the mesh didnt give me the pyffi option, but right-clicking on the FOLDER the mesh was in, did. every nif in the folder was piffied... took a while since i had a LOT of stuff in there
