AkivashaAceron Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 I've recently acquired a bunch of shoe mods for the Sims 4 that I'd love to have in my Sims 3 game, however, when I went to try and convert them myself I discovered that I'm showing my age as I didn't understand anything on how to do it. Still I tired anyway and I got so frustrated that I'm going to ask you guys for some help, because I'm just not understanding it, I looked up tutorials, I watched videos and it's still going so far over my head it might as well be a airplane. I have all the programs, I just don't know what to do with them, especially milkshape, OMG, that thing makes me wanna bash my head in with a rock. Can " have some help please? Some in-depth tutorial or something? If all else fails, someone who can convert said files for me???

I did that A LOT back when I started too (still do, sometimes). You can find several tutorials on Modthesims, before I attach some links a word of advice: Modding for Sims 3 is hard because the tools are ancient, the game has a lot of limitations and a whole bunch of talented people moved away; Sims 4 doesn’t suffer from this (yet). So hopefully you have patience if you choose to mod Sims 3, you’re going to need it. Tutorials on modthesims, tutorials for The Sims 2 that use milkshape also apply. - Milkshape Settings and Tips http://www.modthesims.info/article.php?t=131427 - UnimeshMilkshape Tutorial Level 3, Combining Mesh Parts http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=179177 - Tutorial Wes H his Merge tools explained and how to use them to create a pregnant morph http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=398865 - Tutorial How to convert clothes for teens http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?p=4056260 - Store clothing-Age conversion http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=452193 - Milkshape UV Mapping ShoesExtras Mini Tutorial http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=145153 - MilkShape Plugin Cat's Normal Smoother - smooth selection only, correct seams http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=301473 - Fixing normals in MS3D -- a how to guide http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=489600 - Milkshape Adjusting UV Mapping On Your Modified Body Mesh http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=135136 - how to create faces in milkshape http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=501083 - how can i make a face 2 sided http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=474353 You can also find tutorials on Tumblr, Katsuji or Lana’s have several, be aware the latter hasn’t been updated in a while. TSResource has also some old tutorials. I tried to write a tutorial for making shoes (some would say I "specialize" on that) but never finished it because I'm lazy and english is not my first lenguage, anyway it might help somewhat. ImpHeelsTutorial_part1.pdf ImpHeelsTutorial_part2.pdf Is also ancient, I've moved to using Blender to create clothes and shoes, but before doing that I would recommend to at least read the Milkshape material to understand how the meshes work, and because Blender is a completely differente beast to tame (less than before but still). Hope this helps and welcome to hell! (just joking... a little )
