windpl Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 "Chivalry: Medieval Warfare" vs "War of the Roses" Anyone has this games? Which one to buy. I would go for WAR but I still have sore taste from FATSHARK game "Lead and Gold" that was never fixed.
FallenWarrior Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Don't have any of them. But me and a friend used to follow War of the Roses quite closely. However, we got far more impressed with Chivalry: Medieval Warfare than we got with War of the Roses. But the decision is always up to you
Guest Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 I see little appeal in War of the Roses honestly. It's practically M&B Warband with a graphical update and with less players. Sure there is more customization and such, but the gameplay looks stale to me. War of the Roses and M&B Warband just dissolve into spam-attack-fests. Holding the attack button to attack is going to get you killed over and over again in combat. The easiest and noob-friendly strategy is to rapidly click attack. m Chivalry on the other hand has a meaty, nasty, up-close-and-personal combat system that rewards player skill over spam clicking. It requires you time your blocks and dodges. It's also more satisfying and gratifying than War.

War of the Rose have Execution! while Chivalry have better graphic Ummmm I don't know, but what I know is I never have such game since limited internet connection >_< Those are online rite?
FallenWarrior Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Yep, they are online and both games will be using Steam
radech Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 totalBiscuit did a feature on this not a long time ago, quite informative - not sure i wan't to play either - played the WOR beta a bit, and quickly got bored with the chaotic melee system
windpl Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 Thanks for that link, I think that I will go with WOR because of customization. And buy Chivalry at Christmas sell
chivaleroncross Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 I d buy Chivalry. but no one sell the original disc here and I dont like buy via internet especially in overseas vendor
windpl Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 Well I went with WOR, at first it was fun but with every next patch all ballance is switched upside down and you have to learn everything from beginng. ATM now it is just COD with swords, who swing faster win. Parring is ussles because weapon durability is set so low that it will break in 4 succesful blocks. And Chiivalery on other hand have this, lol i need to buy this game.
